Ah well not far to fall then. You could perhaps try pedaling like on a bike.

No, let loose all on my own. No doubt I deserved to fall off.

Nothing to do with vanity, just get a very hot head, thus if it's hot I don't wear my hat. Thing is I mare of a fatalist, so believe what will be, will be, no hat or anything else can change that. IMO.

You just haven't got it have you 'F'?
laugh.gif

Never mind babe, have a good night's sleep...sorry to hear about your Arthritis; most people only suffer from arthritis, but you're obviously special. Very special, perhaps even Special.
But, thrilling as your repartee is, you're boring me now (sorry, us old folk get a little rude at times) so I'm off to bed.
Try to read some of Tia's and Vivhewe's posts for tips on how to be wittier, as I assume that's your intention?

Tell me is it just vanity that stops you wearing hats?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well I'm guessing it is not me you are asking - as I have previously explained, the complications of having fractured bones in your skull doesn't fit well into hats.

Night, be back tomorrow provided I make it, bearing in mind I'm posting from my mobile whilst driving round the M25 with no seat belt, drinking a can of tennents and smoking a joint..........Gosh I know how to live!!!!

Yet clearly parts are!!!

I think, with all the differnt styles of hats, the breatheable ones, even the Troxel endurance hats, no-one has any credible excuse for saying they feel more comfy without a hat.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't have to make an excuse, It is MY choice, END of.

[ QUOTE ]
And for the eejit who proudly boasted the NHS wouldnt be picking up the tab for her accident as she has private medical cover, blimey, I've yet to see a BUPA ambulance. Are they soooo fashionable they're invisible?

[/ QUOTE ]

Erm that would be me. Don't worry have paid pleny of taxes & NI as fulltime employed since 18 and never claimed a penny in benefits etc... so put more than enough in the kitty for a ride (but sure NHS could claim back costs from insurance company).

[ QUOTE ]
And those who snigger and say "i only go hatless in the menage"... tell you what, I'll come and whack you round the scull with a fencing post, then we'll take piccies and see what the damage is shall we?

[/ QUOTE ]

Menage doesn't have a fence round it. So no danger of hitting my SKULL on fence. Did you bang you SCULL when you fell off hatless???

[/ QUOTE ]

sheesh, what rattled your cage?
smirk.gif

You obviously feel anxious about something, or you wouldnt be getting so wound up.

Most menages do have a fence round, but then there's always one who begs to differ.

You must have some fabby job in order to have paid enough into the system to claim back the treatment for major head injury, nurses to look after you, etc. That alone would cost hundreds of thousands. *bows down in admiration*.

would you enjoy having your backside wiped for the next 50 years? would it make your parents, like, REALLY proud?? what would happen to your horse?

I have no problem with people making a concious decision to not wear a hat, but would like to think they'd thought through the implications first.

My dear S. It was never my intention to be witty. I am rude sometimes, but only if necessary. You on the other hand seem to prefer sarcasm which is of course the lowest form of wit.
Sleep tight, & dont forget to wear your skull cap & BP. Some elderly people actually break bones when falling out of bed.

or just wear it for the meet? Then get J to kindly pop it back into bubblewrap and keep it in the safe?

Always wear hat - yard rules apart from anything. Usually wear Body protector as I've got brittle bones and think it might help. That being said, the times I've been injured I was wearing BP and it made no difference!

I find it funny that those of you who choose to ride hatless put so much effort into defending your decision! If you were totally happy about the risks you are taking then you wouldn't feel the need to argue about it. Obviously it's personal choice, so that doesn't need to be repeated 1,000's of times.

I struggle to understand what's so funny about taking risks to potentially end up like a vegetable, Tia? Are you laughing about what you could end up like if one of your non-spooky horses tripped or your amazing riding let you down, or are you laughing at the poor sods who are condemned to this living nightmare? I don't find anything funny about it at all. Maybe you could try and convince me otherwise?!

Oh and by the way, it takes more effort to make a post on this forum than to put on your bloody hat!

Only 177 replies (opps 178 now) to this post, so hardly constitutes 1,000's + less than a 1/3rd are from people defending our right to make our own decision and not wear a hat and the rest are from people calling us muppets, idiots and proclaiming we will end up vegetables!!!

Why would Tia try and convince you otherwise, I'm sure she isn't bothered if you wear a hat or not.

There's this really cool 4 letter word which makes life quite simple for reasonably smart people who use forums.

r....e.....a....d.
