I have just found out that a friend has lost a second horse to colic tonight. Her second loss within 12 months. Why is life so cruel. He was only 5 and she had just had him about 5 months. After suffering her first loss so unexpectedly she searched for along time to replace her and now this.

Makes you truly grateful for what you have even if they are opinionated, stubborn little sods.

My thoughts are with my friend.

Oh that is so tragic, my thoughts are with you all. My horse had colic on Sunday night and again last night still have no idea if he will be ok. He survived perotinitis against the odds in January & I have treasured every extra day I have had with him.

Yes I too am truly grateful, he too is normally an opinionated stubbon little sod but looked so helpless last night when he lay his head on my lap as he was down & I couldn't get him up on my own and had to wait for the vet to arrive.
