I have 6 horses but decided I'd just do my eventer

I bought him for a crippling £15,000 (he is worth it though my horse of a life time) and in the same marjet think he'd be worth the same, in this market he'd probs be around £10,000 or less

Last time I thought about what my horse was worth who had just won BE event on dressage score of 23.5...... he went lame the next day with suspensory ligament damage, i reckoned he dropped 10k over night!!

I often wonder about this. My horse is loaned from a charity so effectively has no value (had big trouble trying to insure her for competition use) but I know I couldn't afford another horse like her, she's grown into such a fab mare.

No idea though

Bought for £3000, tore tendon eight months later... another two years on and she's probably only worth meat money. Doesn't bother me in the slightest though as I wouldn't sell her

I have 3 horses.
My mare (Hattie) I bought for £1200 and tried to sell her for 50p the other day but had no takers.

Seriously I would say she would be worth 7-8k but age is against her now.

My little gelding (Gypsy) I bought for £800 and is probably worth £4-5k, if he wasn't so quirky.

My big gelding (Shamrock) I bought last year for £2000 and is now probably not worth much more as he hasn't done much, is now broken and put on weight and condition but not much else. Ask me in a year or so and I hope it will be alot more.

i bought my thorouhbred filly for £350, + was offered £5000 before i even picked her up! that was bout 3 months ago. + i bought my dressage horse for £2500 7years ago + was offered a ridiculous amount of money for him a couple of years after but couldnt part with him coz hes my baby!!

I reckon about 3.5-4k

15.2hh 12yo Beautiful coloured mw cob. Will live in or out. RC, hunts and endurance rides. Safe in heavy traffic, Excellent to load, clip, shoe. Hacks alone or in company. Snaffle mouthed.

Am I about right do you think? Not that she's going anywhere, she's worth her weight in gold to me.

somedays more than a million, other days I'd pay you to take it away ;-)

haha i like that one, the days it takes me an hour to catch her I think exactly that!!

Paid 3000 for my sec D couldn't give him away now, but then again wouldn't want too!

Paid 6750 for my warmblood X now, after problems with his feet and a kissing spine operation he is probably only worth about 1000, but I love him.

I feel I was 'meant' to have these horses. Both are quirky, misunderstood and need a lot of patience but we get along just fine.

Hm, not sure - how much would you pay for a 14 yo, cow hocked, bucking roarer with and average jump and a stifle injury (on the mend)? He is bomb proof in traffic but likely to have you off in the school, he has a lovely nature but will probably tank the moment you take him on a x-country course ... I paid 2.5 k for him a few years ago - just because I liked him and to get him away from the riding school he had been dumped on just before I bought him. Still don't regret it as we are having loads of fun

My girlie is priceless; I could be offered millions for her and I'd never give her up

We bought her as a very green 5yr old for £3k...under a year later, we were offered £12k for her at a show

That was before we began properly jumping, so her true value as a 8/9/10 yr old was probably in the region of £15k. She'd be worth less now, though, simply because we've done nothing competitively for four years due to me losing my nerve - and the fact that she is going to be 14 this year

Time really does fly!!!
