2nd numpty question for today :)

The dentist recently visited and my horse has gaps in her teeth where the grass gets stuck. I have to try and dig this out every day, we are slowly getting there, but she does have sore gums as a result of 'rotting grass'.

Is there such a thing as bonjela for horses? When I have used human bonjela on an ulcer it has been a bit 'stingy' - my horse might let me administer something like this once, but I'm sure I won't get away with it twice - she's not silly :) Also, I wouldn't want to use something designed for humans on a horse.

TIA :)

Glymol is supposed to be good for sore mouths :) I bought a pot a while ago but never needed it. Think it has clove oil in which is slightly numbing.

A horse on our yard had ulcers and the vet recommended Bonjela so there is presumably no problem in using it in horses. Did your dentist not suggest drilling out the diastomas(the gaps you describe)?? They can be widened in some horses to stop feed being trapped.

My OH was there for the dentist, apparently he did not suggest drilling. We will have a chat with him and see what is involved. Thanks (not something I would have known about :) )
