Just wondered if any of you have sorned your lorry since we cannot use them for the foreseeable future, I am in too minds, as I like knowing in emergency it is there, but since it has not been used since October (the last sponsored ride) I don't use it in the winter and It was plaited January 2020, normally would use it Easter Monday (first outing). Only £ 14. something a month.
ANy one else just bite the bullet or sorn it??

I'm keeping mine taxed and ready to go. Be sods law that you needed to get to horspital and had no transport.

I wouldnt sorn mine. You just never know. I've seen people say then can quickly re tax it online but really, in an emergency, will someone do this? A few years ago I had a massive emergency with a horse and in the panic, I struggled to press the right buttons on my phone to call the vet, so there's no way I would be able to tax a vehicle! As it happens, I use mine to get hay, but even if I didn't, I still wouldn't sorn it.

As others have said, I like to have mine for emergencies and I'll probably run it home (instead of the car) every now and then to keep it ticking.

I sorned mine last weekend as it was due for renewal this week. Horses are on full and youngstock livery so yard is on total lockdown to liveries. In the event of an emergency the YO would likely use her lorry and if ours was needed it’s pretty speedy to reapply online so I figured I may as well save a few months where I can.

I have, and also cancelled the insurance temporarily. But we are lucky enough to have a 4x4 and trailer for emergencies...….

I haven’t and not going to, inspite of also having a trailer and choice tow vehicle. Mostly because it will still need running. But also in an emergency, it’s much easier to just load up and go.
