Hi All

Could I have feed balancer recommendations pls?

The horse:
* is a poor doer
* doesn't have great quality feet
* is currently being rehabilitated from injury so lacking muscle tone
* fed a high fibre diet
* susceptible to 'heating up' on anything other than a fibre and oil diet.

Has anybody used a specific balancer for the above reasons?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I've always had a really good results with Blue Chip even with horses that get heated easily.

I'd be looking at Equivita/Progressive Earth/Forage Plus. They are specifically designed for hoof health, have no iron and balanced copper and zinc etc. They wont hot your horse up as they are powder mineral balancers. If you go for one of the cheaper ones adding lysine helps with muscle development. I'd also be feeding linseed which is good for feet/joints/weight and adding 40gms of salt
