Sorry, another TB thread.

Mine jumps but we've never competed due to lack of transport and then injury. We've never got to any great height, think 4'1 was the biggest but if we'd have done more when he was younger he may have gone further. We just jump for fun now :)

He's 16.2hh, nearly 17 years and has navicular and arthritis!

Well up until I got Harry I would have said they were bold, but not always particularly careful. Whilst never getting complete cricket scores Jem does tend to get 4 faults, however she is more than capable of jumping clear!

Harry on the other hand is more careful than any other horse I have ever sat on! He is not long out of racing (he hurdled), so is very green, but just about jumps me off to mke sure he is no where near touching a pole!

Mine is only a bab, just 5, so not done much yet. Pops a pole quite happily at home. We will only compete at local level, up to 95cms, as I am a bit past it these days, lol.:D
If she shows promise, might register her and get someone to jump her for me.

My boy is a failed racehorse turned failed polo horse turned show jumper (well one day) He was brought cheap as he was slightly crazy upon purchasing as in the owner wouldn't ride him, was scared of him, and all we did was buck and rear, and 2 months later, hey presto:

He is a very clean jumper, and hes been placed in every sjing class he's entered (ok by default as in slowest clear, but 50+ in some classes so I'm happy :) )

Mine did BSJA before it became BS. We had our 4 double clears at BN, 3 double clears for Discovery, were qualified for the 90cm and 1.00m amateur 2nd rounds and were ready to start newcomers with expectations of double clears from the first attempt when she pulled a muscle in her back. This hurt when she stretched for a jump, she had 2 fences down in the jump off of the 1m amateurs and this was enough for me to call the physio who diagnosed, one pole would have been unusual to make me call, she really was that careful. The back pull knocked her miles back, I'm not good enough to get it right all the time, and if we both lack confidence then it doesn't go well. She's had a year off from jumping now, but I think she's ready to go back and give it another go.

Piccies of her jumping, sorry ones oldish now:

Very bold & loves it! Literally lights up when he hears poles being moved! Does sometimes approach fences in a slightly unorthodox way! Can be incredibly strong one moment then just drops away from you the next. Very weight sensitive, get it slightly wrong & he'll simply take a stride out but is incredibly honest, if I put him too deep he never says no, basically he mostly ignores my feeble interference & just does the job! Used to be massively careless, 4 or 5 fences down in 1 round was the norm. After years of lessons & gridwork he's much, much better & usually jumps clear or has 1 down. Never phased by anything, his exuberance & fondness of jumping at the speed of light has got us into sticky situations numerous times but he always jumps himself out of trouble. Probabley wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but I'm
used to him now!

Mines super bold, scopey and pretty careful. He'll have the odd pole when he's not concentrating but he won't knock one down twice! He's never refused or anything, will jump off any stride.
The only thing I will say is that sometimes he can be a bit overkeen and see strides into fences we aren't ment to jump, he can occassionally if he hasnt jumped for a while be quite sharp... by this I mean he will overjump the fence, have a bit of a joyous buck,
be quite powerful to ride but to be fair thats what you want from a competitive jumping horse..I also put that down to a bit of greeness.
He gives me tons of confidence, he really is a point, hang onto the mane and over you go type horse! :-

We do tons of stuff together, BE, BD, SJ, showing the works :).

mine is a disaster! can't think on his feet. Doesn't know what his legs are doing. Just not a natural jumper at all. He is even nervous loose jumping over tiny poles. It's lovely to see such scopey jumpers on this thread though. But unfortunately my lad will never be one. but you just have to ride the horse you have!
