I moved to a new area last year and have had my mare on grass livery, the fields were a bog all winter and the horses were very miserable. We were promised more grazing which hasn't materialised but this area is also clay and just doesn't seem suited to being in use 24/7. No option to strip graze and horses are usually left until the grass is gone before being moved to a lusher field which I'm not keen on.
Space has come up at neighbouring yard they have more grazing but horses come in October-March same facilities at each. Can have own field van graze as you wish or buddy up.
Horse isn't adverse to being stabled but prefers to be out however was miserable last year in the thick of winter. Where would you choose? TIA
