We have just got two kittens, they will be 8 weeks on Saturday, so we are still unsure if they are girls or boys...

We need to get some names for them... we can't keep refering to them as 'the one with more white!'

OH would like to have two related names, as they are related... any suggestions....

OHH.. here are some pictures to help! (They are SO SWEET!!)

Playing this morning with a dead leaf (they dont want to play with the toy mice we bought them!) The one with more white 'rears' up and falls backwards.. this is the action shot!

The one with less white, really loves his/her food and cuddles, where are the one with more white is always playing and stalking his/ her brother/ sister! (we need to find out what sex they are!!) xx

How sweet, they are gorgeous. Sorry no good with names, the one showing its ace looks like its dipped its mouth in paint! I have been looking for a pair of kittens for ages and can't find any, kitten season is starting though. Seeing them makes me even more impatient!!

Awwww they are so adorable!!! Mittens is a cute name for a cat - we were going to call our bsh that until we picked her up and it didn't quite fit her! I like Pumpkin, Pickle, Pudding.....

I know... he/she has these little black blobs all over.

They are fab.. play, wrestle for 40 mins and then pass out for 10 mins then back to playing again! Ive been late for work most of this week, they are such time wasters.

We were also waiting a while for them and the rescue centres kept telling us to wait a month... these came up (there are still three left from the litter if your close by??!!) xx

No i am in West Wales, although they are so cute it is tempting! How about Dip and Dab or Dot and Dash or Dot and Domino? Told you i was rubbish at names!

Loving the suggestions.... keep them coming!

My old cat was Sooty (we also had his brother Sweep- which turned to Squeek as he couldnt meow... so cant really have another Sooty

We used to have the most wondeful gentle black and white cat which my dear OH called......

Mogolicious Supernutritious

or Mog for short

Then there was Lottie Splottie - our little tortie.

We were going to call the last stray we found Schrödinger but Fuzz Nuts seemed to suit him better.

As far as sex goes, females (sorry to sound crude) have their two holes very close together and males are a little further apart but if you have not compared male and female before you may be confused - vet can tell you instantly or take a look at a cat of a confirmed sex.

You may find as you watch them play, names just pop into your head and stick.

About names, I usually prefer names that tell which gender the person or animal have, but since it's not possible how about This and That?

Have you tried looking at the "lower hole", in general on male kittens it's rounder and more visible than on the females, what will later become a vulva usually looks rather vaguely visible in comparison and more like only a straight little line? Also on a male kitten it is more clearly visible that there's two separate "holes" but on the female kitten it's more the anus that is clearly visible.

Have you tried looking at the distance between the two "holes"? On young (up to a month or a little more) females it usually looks as if there isn't much distance in between the two "holes" at all, but on the males it usually looks like there's a clearly visible distance in between the "holes".

Have you tried feeling gently 5 to 6 millimetre below the anus for two small balls under the skin?

Have you tried to somewhat quickly, holding them on their back with the rump towards you, some say that the male genitals then resemble a question mark and the female an exclamation mark, with the anus as the dot below?

Though in a book I have, it says that it's not that unusual to stand with three kittens that looks as if they belong to three different sex! But also that when around 1 months of age, it is usually clearly visible that the male "lower" hole is "travelling" downwards.

Good luck with them, hope you have some shawls left.

No suggestions really just remember how you will feel if you have to call them in at 2 in the morning if you choose the wrong names.

Tiggy has morphed into Tiggly Wiggly because of the way she trots around the house with her tail erect but wiggling.

Unfortunatly she comes to a call of Wiggly try calling that out late at night. OH wont just stands at back door and waits for her to be telepathic!
