So whats lanaken like? there seems to be a lot going on there!

Lannaken is the home of Zangersheide I think

Can't be too shabby as they have the World Young Horse Championships there this year

Moorsele is very nice too I believe...

Yes Lanaken is the home of Zangersheide. It's near the Dutch border, just a few miles from Maastricht. I've not been to the YH Champs but was there when they held the Nations Cup Final show there in 1991. Lovely venue which includes huge tents in which mares and foals are exhibted and judged.

Moorsele is run by the Van Geenberghe family (of that well- known Ukrainian Jean-Claude). The Belgian competitors seem good about running internatonal shows - Lummen is run by the Postelmanns family and Ludo Philippaerts is behind Hasselt.

hasselt is amazing! as are mechelen and lummen! i've never been to lanaken. although i did go past the signs to it on the way to aachen LOL!

shows on the continent are much nicer (and much cheaper!) than those in the UK IMHO

Small tour within the Sunshine Tour starts at 1-20 - if you look at the website it tells you - the tour in Portugal is lower tho - will tell all once the schedules for both are finalised

Weezy, do let me know if you do something in Estepona - I'll pop over & support you (in the sun, drink in hand - NOT jumping!!)

Wales and West is every month from April to September. next weekend is their Amateur/Derby meeting. Get to go around the main Castle Arena and do the big bank etc in classes from 1m upwards.

Sure thing! We must organise being over at the same time anyway, its ridiculous!!

Facilities for spectating at Estepona are so brilliant I think I would rather be in the restaurant too!

I was thinking about the loss of earnings for a start!! How many weeks is it on for? I mentioned it to OH and he was quite keen, so you never know....

I want to take my PRE stallion to do the dressage small tour classes next year. He's currently training in Germany & doing very well but the Sunshine Tour would be great experience for both horse & rider.
