Id like to know who uses one and which bit they use and why they use it?

My horse is currenetly in a flexi mouth striaght bar full check but im thinking about changing it to see how she goes. She is very very fussy with the contact and in trot and canter is better but walking and halt she gets gobby.

My inst says that sometime plastic bits can cause friction in the mouth ( she sometime draws her tounge back ) so im thinking about getting one.

I like the full cheek ones as she has very sensative lips and can get a tad excitable and steering can go a little when doing more exciting stuff.

It must be dressage legal

There seesm to be a an extensive range and i cant understand from the website what the different bits are for.

I would either need a full cheeck, poss an egbutt of the lose ring one that has an eggbutt on the end for the ring to slide throught.

Any feed back appreciated and tips where to get one second hand or if anywhere does a trial before buying service.
 
I use a Sprenger training bit (same as the KK Ultra but the link is not angled) on my mare, she doesn't like the KK Ultra for some reason. I find a normal french link is too sharp for her on the flat, whereas she usually goes quite nicely into the contact in the KK. She also seems to like the fact that it is slightly thicker than most bits - mine is 18mm. You can order most of them in different thicknesses.

I also used a KK Ultra on another horse I rode as I wanted her to become more comfortable in her mouth. In a normal bit she had a very dry mouth and seemed fixed on the contact. The KK seemed to help a bit with that. I used a 14mm with her.

I got my training bit from Horsesense saddlery at Solihull Riding Club as they had a promotion on at the time. They seemed to have a good range. I got the ultra second hand off ebay, so it's worth having a look on there for bargains. There is an ebay shop that ships used bits over from Germany which usually has fairly good prices.
 
I use the Dynamic RS - my lad has a bit of a fat tongue and this leaves plenty of room for it! It is also supposed to be quite 'soft', which is what I was looking for.
Horsey absolutely loves this bit - to the point that he won't let go when you take the bridle off ...
It did take him a while to get used to it though (but it takes him time to get used to anything, really).
Downside is - they are very expensive. I get them a little cheaper at home but with the EUR being so strong the difference is marginal. If you are going for one I would suggest using a shop that will let you try it for two weeks or so to see if it works.
 
just use kk ultra and its like magic
