well done everyone, if i had been able to go i would of done... if anything happens like this when i have my own transport i will be willing to donate and help
It will be very interesting to see if the RSPCA release a statement over their involvment in the horses suffering - as the facts emerge it appears that they have been as neglectful as the owner.
Hey!
It was nice too meet you today, shame it couldn't have been under nicer circumstances.
I'm sorry I had to leave early but I'm glad they've been moved!
Well done!
well done to all those involved, unfortunatley I have missed the main bit of this due to being at school, however i will be at Burghley on Saturday and Sunday so if there is anything practicle I can bring to give to someone who is involved, feed, rugs anything needed please let me know
Wow, what an amazing day! The Internet at its very best! It just proves that individuals can make a difference.
I didn't get any work done today, keeping up with these threads. And I was so intent on finding out the result that I nearly burnt the blackberry and apple jam I am making!
OH came home to find me with tears streaming down my face as I read that the horses had been removed and taken to safety. My faith in humans is offcially restored.
Has anyone thought about complaining to the BEVA about the vet who passed them "fit" so to speak - just a month ago? I doubt the BEVA would take any action against it - but it would give him food for thought!
What a fantastic outcome. Everyone involved deserves a massive round of applause
Such a shame that it takes a public uproar to rescue suffering animals. The law needs to be changed so that animals in this state can be confascated before they end up in this situation.
And lastly a massive well done to Any and Chloe, who don't even have an interest in horses, for taking the initiative and saving these animals lives.
What a fantastic result all round
So pleased to hear that Carrot and Spud are safe and hope to hear that they will both be okay. I know they are far from out of the woods yet though.Fingers crossed that the ex owner will face further charges over this. With any luck he will get a ban on keeping horses and the other 2 in the field will face a more certain future.
Oh thank goodness. I've just got in after an afternoon/evening with my girls, and these poor guys were never far from my mind. I am so glad to hear they are now safe. Here's hoping they have a speedy recovery and that those negligent are held accountable.

Well, unless we know who they were, won't that be difficult? Plus, as we don't know the full story then a complaint, I think, would be unjustified. However, an enquiry wouldn't be.
Well done to you all - it takes courage and a person with a truly good heart to actually do something about this. I hope that you and Chloe and Andy and all those involved in pulling those poor poor wretched ponies from the jaws of death are very very proud of yourselves.
I am sure that many of the HHO'ers would have been with you in body given half the chance - they were certainly there with you in spirit and I have no doubt that it is the direct action of this forum followed up by courageous and caring people like yourselves which saved the day.
Sorry I am waffling now but I feel genuinely moved by this all...

Well I have the vet in question's number on my itemised phone bill....
A few of us know who he is, but not naming names for obvious reasons...
