Yesterday morning, Stella woke up with hives all over her body, and purplish-red lesions on her neck. She was diagnosed as having had a severe allergic reaction to her rabies vaccine, which was adminstered five days earlier. Two Benadryls, a steroid shot, and the bumps had gone by yesterday evening.
However, she woke up today and the staph infection is on her tummy now; the hives are much better, though. The vet told me to leave her there, so that they can assess her more closely. We did start her on an antibiotic yesterday, to treat the staph, but I think they may need to give her some IV.
I am so worried about her
The poor girl is such a trooper through everything. She kissed the vet and cuddled up to the guy sat next to us in the waiting room. Nothing dampens her cheery spirit.
Typically, I have a work deadline for this evening, and am supposed to be flying to England on Sunday. Gah.
