Far too gusty here too.

Didn't sleep a wink last night the wind was so loud.

Lots of flooded roads here and we had heavy snow first thing which made dropping my daughter at the bus station in my little car a bit of a challenge!

Turned back to rain now but very heavy and the wind is still howling.

Think it's going to be tomorrow AM before it calms down here.

the wind was blowing off the sea right into our bedroom window last night so didn’t sleep very well either.
Tali’s stable was a fair mess this morning so she must’ve been a bit unsettled with the wind and rain. No one seemed overly fussed about going out but weather had eased so off they went. ?

ETA luckily no floods. And no snow. Hope your floods clear soon.

I managed 25 minutes but the wind really got up and Mr D started swinging his bum to avoid the worst of it. Annoyingly, I drove to my art class later on in a howling gale and driving rain, just vile but walking to the car later on when it was relatively calm, I slipped in the wet and have broken a bone in my hand. No riding for me for a while but fortunately I can still play with a paint brush.

Oh no! Isn't that always the way of these things ?

No riding for anyone here yesterday, local stables all cancelled lessons, ours were brought in early or kept in. Most of the turbulence was over by lunchtime but better safe than sorry.

I got one cheeky comment about my poor pony having to stand outside in the weather when all the TB's and warmbloods stayed in all day. She has hair an inch thick and the paddock is sheltered, I doubt she even noticed the gale. She was livid that she had come in early to a stable without dinner in it though.

Luckily we moved yards on Monday morning to a barn where the horses are in at night, previous place they would have been out at night with no shelter so glad we moved when we did. Haven’t tried to ride yet in the torrential rain and strong winds as I’ve given us a few days off to settle and calm down after a stressful few weeks at the previous yard.

I have brought my two in tonight as the wind & rain has not let up all day and the wind has now blown part of the electric fence down. The old girl hates being in and is refusing to eat her tea but I'm hoping she will settle eventually. My big man who's very quirky, led in calmly and munched straight into his tea so hope he will be a calming influence.

Had a new rider visiting yesterday must admit if she comes back she is made of stern stuff. Met by me dressed like an overstuffed scarecrow with witches knots in my hair, horizontal freezing wind and ponies that were soggy and covered in a thin layer of greasy mud, half poo picked fields and not much shelter
