Awful winds here this evening. I was poo picking after work and the wind actually took the poop scoop out of my hands and across the field! I think that was the strongest wind I’ve ever felt.
Some of the guttering from one of the barns has come down and a metal sheet was hanging off the barn and flapping violently.
I genuinely felt a bit wary walking around the farm as things were at real risk of flying off buildings. If one of those metal sheets had flown off and hit me, I doubt I’d have had a head left!
I won't have metal roof sheeting on the buildings after my shelter blew up in 2022 storms - the gouges left in the ground by the metal roof sheets were huge. If they'd hit horse or human it would have been fatal.

The wind is absolutely howling here, I think this one might be the worse of the two this week. Hope everyone and everything stays safe.

Feels worse here. Definitely louder than the last one. Which is why I’m still awake 😩 wonder if my codged-back-together garden fence will make it through the night. And if the horses are ok 😕

I just want it to stop now. Just let dog out for a last wee and thought he would be back in double quick but he took himself off round the garden somewhere and then was sitting happily outside the back door looking out over the yard. We’re all tucked up in our beds now but listening to wild winds outside.

Just been out to do last checks and hay, only just made it to the building to get the hay. The door was a bit tricky to get to the hay, then nearly blew past the shelter door. Horses fine in shelter, where it is quite quiet, then I blew back into the house. I do hope it settles overnight

I think last night was the worst! Sound wise. I really expected to go out to carnage this morning but nothing obvious in the dark so far!

I think I agree when I went down to the indoor school at 11pm to give the dogs a final chance to pee the sounds of the wind and the creaking and crashing were really quite frightening I really wondered what we would wake up to this morning .
Haven't found any damage and surprisingly no tees down.
Hope this cycle of storms end now my nerves are in tatters.

Last night was definitely the noisiest night we have had. Got to lots of twigs/small branches down around the yard and on the lane. I had to rethread my mains electric fence, which is on proper woooden posts, before i could turn out. That's the third time this week. It's the wide tape and just seems to catch the wind and pull through the connectors.

Like everyone else, i'm proper fed up with the wind now. I'm trying to get my young horse fit but there is no way I am hacking out in this!

We survived storm Isha with no damage but last night was something else. Fortunately not too much damage but a fence between two of our fields has blown down - typically the winter fields so a patch up job was needed this morning before I could turn out.

the noise of the wind just went on and on. Didn't get any sleep with the noise. So far today is like a spring day. Out working in jeans and a T shirt. Got 2 horses out and there are a lot of very over mature trees on our ride and absolutely nothing down barely even any twigs

Finally its calm. J storm took off some more coverings, hay shelter - which we focused on repairing. It wasnt as fierce gusts as Isha, more swirly gusty. Managed to get into the most sheltered spaces and rip things away!
Its finally calm and quiet.

Survived. It wasn’t far off Isha, maybe not as many ferocious gusts. I slept most of the night anyway. I think I decided I was still so tired from Sunday that to h*ll with it, what happens will happen!

I'd be interesting to know what speed the wind gusts were here last night! We had 99mph gusts in Isha up here but last night seemed to be even worse (didn't think that was possible)! Never heard wind like it, pretty scary!

Sheer.madness coming over Shap this morning. It was a little bit scary with three trucks blown over.
It got better as.I went further North. It felt surreal to be sat in a calm and mild sunny day.in Ayr only a few hours later.
We can see.our garden shed on the ring doorbell,.we strapped.that down in early winter and are relieved.its still where we left it.
I really hope that's not this week for horrible weather because.im totally sick of it now!

All calm here now, thank goodness! Meant to rain a bit tomorrow here though - hopefully not much as the storm has dried it out fantastically! Friday looks like a lovely day and I’m hoping to finally be able to ride then as I’m off work then.

We’re on the edge of an amber warning for snow tomorrow.

Heavy rain for much of yesterday, and because the ground is already saturated there is quite a bit of lying water on the roads.

Two BMWs are reported as being broken down in a flood not far away. It really does seem to be a disproportionate number of BMWs who get caught out and stuck being driven through floods hereabouts. Not sure if it is the cars, the drivers, or a mix of the two.

We have had BMW cars for years and our lane floods so we have to drive through it and never had an issue, ours are low to the ground though so maybe that's a factor as well.

They are crap in the ice and snow but then most most sports are 😂

It keeps changing on the weather here between snow and rain so not sure what we will end up having, I’d prefer neither but will take rain over snow

Keeps changing between sleet and snow here. Mine may have a day in if it’s as bad as it says but we will see. I don’t like keeping them in but it will be the first day this year so one day won’t hurt but will see what the morning brings!

We have either, rain, snow or nothing forecast, I'm hoping it's nothing! I've had enough of storms this winter, we are still waiting for insurance surveyor to come to look at damage to our roof after Isha.
