Hi Hi,
We had to abandon our usual Wednesday morning powerhack 5mins out the drive gate this morning as the poor little guy was trotting out wrong.
I have no idea what it could be (no incidents, no hooning around in the field etc).
He was shod monday, so I rang the farrier and asked if he had tried to re-balance his feet/ had an apprentice shoe/ anything different at all and nothing!
So we have the back man coming on Friday- hopefully will cure it!
I dont think it is a conventional leg type problem as his walk still feels very strong, swinging well and tracking up as normal. He steps up with back feet when pushing him back. Crosses his back feet under himself if you turn on the fore hand. Will stretch and hold his back legs if you pull them up and forwards or stretch them out backwards with no wincing and has no heat/ swelling/ sore areas on his legs!
His trot is just wrong and he is really dragging his off hind. Its very peculiar, any suggestions to get me thinking before the back man?
(Should the back mans visit be inconclusive I will have the vet out, its just a process of elimination)
