Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have an 8yr wb x welsh cob, chestnunt mare! she is a very senstive type!! I have just been up to try to ride her and she trotted up lame. She will start off sound and then go lame. So i put her in the school loose with just over reach boots on and she yet again started off sound then would go lame then sound again! If she went in to canter she was sound too! For every circle she did lame she would do 4 or 5 sound ones!! I then started prodding and poking! no swelling, no heat, found a tiny bit of mud fever that she got from the waxed arenas when i had her at uni last year which won't budge. Figured the over reach boots might be rubbing this so took them off and she trotted up sound as a pound!!
Then decided to try riding again this time with no o r boots on, first trot sound, second trot same as before! Shes sound on a tight circle, sound 95% of the time. She does have a splint on the leg but theres no heat or anything. She did the same thing to me last week, no quite as bad. The vet was out any way and said she was fine and that it was just her being her!
Just wondered if anyone had any ideas?? I dont want to call the vet again becuase i cannot guarentee that she will be lame!
Sorry this is so long, not sure how to make it shorter!
Thanks in advanced.
