Stubble fields, bale jumping - tresspass

I can appriciate that direct drilling used to be a fairly rare sight, but it isn't anymore, at least not around us, and I would hazard a guess that most rape this year is being direct drilled or disced in. I appriciate that not everyone can tell when it has been cultivated, but ignorance is no excuse.

I don't take the view of "live and let live" horses are a lifestyle you have chosen, and I believe if you want to stay off the roads and jolly on the fields you should buy/rent your own. Just because you have a horse should not give you god given right to tramp where you like.

if you read my post i said years ago ! Huge arable fields in East Anglia without a farmhouse in sight, for a couple of weeks it was great fun and I can assure you that no farmer lost a penny because of it ! There were no rape fields then....also now I'm in Scotland so I do have a right to tramp where I like , altough I don't think it's God given !

If you read the access code, bale jumping or similar activities are not alright in Scotland either, at least not without permission even though bales are not specifically mentioned.

Before you "tramp where you like", it might be an idea to read the code. I think the BHS have one too. There's an old saying, "Abuse it, you'll lose it"....and quite rightly so too in my opinion. I see they are introducing bye laws in some areas to curb the freedoms allowed under the law.

Wouldn't dream of trespassing on any type of land for a razz round...

The farmers round here are pretty generous and we have a deal that any stubble field with the gate open is ok to ride on.

Unfortunately it does give them the headache that people obviously see us riding on the fields, and think it's ok that they follow suit, without realising we've been granted permission.

I just think it's polite to ask first.
