i moved to a 'proper' stables with my friend (older than me, married, kids etc) just over a year ago, we always hacked out together & with other people on the yard. I really like it at the yard but around May, my friend lets call her K let me down on a promise she made by writing a note on our (personal) whiteboard - i use to put out over the winter she brought in as her horse couldnt be left on its own & would go up @ 6am to do him. Then when i text her to ask what she meant she got funny with me & stuff.
So anyway we spent a while not talking to each other then we kind of made up but not doing each others horse but we talked & hacked out together but now shes got a sharer for her horse who has basicly 'replaced me' (doing all the stuff i used - go to shows & go to weddings with the horse & carriage). So K has buddied up with a friend of hers (met through a horsey friend) who has 1 of the ponys on loan so they always go riding & 'hang out' together, to top it all 1 girl who i got on really well with has recently moved yards & certain people on the yard have made my horse out to be misbehaved out hacking & that -which he is not so no-one else is interested in riding with me except my goddaughter!!
i just feel really down, i feel a change would do me the world of good but i dont want to upset Linx, he took the move to current yard really well & i hope that would be the case again. i know of a couple of yards round me, 1 is where my friends just moved, another is a yard i had a pony loan years ago both of which take DIY's & are only a short distance from current place & the last place is where i used to have lessons but its now a livery yard & they cater for Part/full liveries (so a move there would be cost dpendent) & its up the road (just off a busy road). i havent looked at any, just been thinking of possible places.

my friend whose just moved says theres a stable @ her yard, i said i would try & stick it out but i want to look into this yard & leave it to the fates!
im going to have a quick look Tuesday (in the dark) then if i think its worth having a proper look at with dad then we'll arrange to have an official look at the weekend
[red]rent £20 per week DIY [/red] - its £5 a week more than current place, it doesnt have an xc course but it does have all year-24/7 turnout although that doesnt affect me too much as Linx is fully clipped so will still come in at night but it allows him to be out for a whole day (6/7am-6:30/7pm) which would save my dad the hassle of having to bring it @ lunch time. it has a school & access to lanes/common via the fields (private riding) although im not 100% sure if its available all year or i can go down thorugh the village & onto the common ride i currently do
hay/straw is purchased in addition to the rent in big bales not 100% sure of the exact cost but you can buy your own hay (which would work out well if yours only comes in now & again or you can pay £5 a week for as much as you want which is probably what i would do during the winter & i know a big bale of straw will probably last a month
mares/geldings our separate in large fields (some are 18acres)
