Hi all,
Hoping you can help me out in trying to figure out which (if any) studbooks I can register my 4.5 year old with.
We bred a foal from my ex event mare 4.5 years ago and after doing some research I wondered if it was possible to register him (the offspring with a stud book). I don't know very much about breeding info/ studbooks etc. but I have the following info below and think he may be eligible for AES (not sure if anything else?)?
He was bred in 2010 by a KWPN registered and graded stallion. The stallion is also approved and graded by AES. The stallion's recorded breeding lines go back many generations. I have a photo copy document of the 4 generations of the stallions breeding from KWPN.
The dam was a registered ex racer TB with Wetherby's and also has recorded breeding lines that go back many generations.
I have a covering certificate from the stallion owner with AES at the top and is completed except for the vet id sketch markings.
The offspring was sketched, microchipped, passport (Pet ID Equine) after he was weaned.
The mare is only registered with Wetherby's so I do not think she is known by AES? Unfortunately the mare is now deceased so I can't provide any DNA from her nor do I have her passport.
Would I be able to obtain proof of breeding from Wetherby's direct?
Also from what I can gather from the AES website he will be eligible for the stud book provided I enclose all these documents and a letter from my vet stating that they can confirm that the offspring was by the dam (which they can vouch as can the stallion owner).
My questions are can I register the gelding with any studbooks? And what do I need to provide them with?
I was going to call them tomorrow but hoped some expert breeders on here might be able to help me out beforehand.
Thanks in advance
