Ooh, am I the first to start this thread this week?! I assume the entire equine world will be out celebrating the fact that there may be some glimmers of sunshine this week, and things are actually taking place rather than rained off.

Although, looking at the local forecast, this sunshine won't last the weekend sadly. I'm so fed up of it, so I've booked all weather xc on Sunday with a mini Wobbleberry group. Our first xc outing for a while so it will be just to get out, stretch our legs, and pop a few smaller jumps hopefully.

Saturday - if it's nice I will hack out and/or might do a few poles to make sure F remembers how to jump before we head out on Sunday!

What's everyone else up to?

Ooh nice plans, hope the weather holds for you!

I think MP is basking in her awesomeness to bother with the weekend thread this week ;).

Nothing much for me, possability of a Farm ride on Sunday so hopefully the bonkers grey (:eek3: I know the grey one has overtaken the black one for bonkers'ness :eek3:) can have a good run.

Working till back end of tomorrow...
Saturday see's start of boot camp for NF, but instead of leaving her there, we are commuting for a daily session till end next week (except Monday).
My wonky self and weak right leg are having difficulty in canter transitions so have booked stronger (much better) rider to assist with improvement :)

Blimey is it Thursday already? Beautiful day here although think today is likely to be the best day but spring it is today after a definite wintry day yesterday.

This evening we have our 2nd lesson with new dressage instructor although M seems rather sleepy at the min.

Friday = hack
Saturday = trip to some all weather gallop to test our fitness so I can plan the next few weeks before our first ODE.

Sunday I think I might be going low key SJ but that might not happen yet

Sunshine! Yes hoping to ride tonight and actually be productive rather than riding and leading for a leg stretch around the fields :(

I have Friday afternoon off so plan to get some fences and barrels out and do some fun jumping and tricky lines.

Saturday is all about hacking out - hopefully get some good long canters in! Then sadly working Saturday night sooo

Sunday I'll be mainly sleeping whilst loaner rides both ponies for me :)

Good luck to anyone competing! Got everything crossed for the weather!

xx

Sunny... We'll see :eek3:

My plans are nonexistent, I'm just here to grumble about the weather. I need it to clear up so I can get my mare to some training on grass and actually have a hope of ever managing to play her this year. Damnable weather.

I am so jealous of all of you. :-(

Cudo has a draining abscess and we're forecast to get another 6" or more of snow on Saturday.

Come on Spring..... GET HERE!!!!!!

No plans for me :) but I’ve been off this week so we’ve been clear round SJ on Tuesday (including our first 90cm round!), XC schooling today and a lesson tomorrow :) I really wanted to do a fun ride on Saturday but I thought his little legs might wear away :D

Trying to get out xc schooling is proving to be a challenge at the moment, we should have gone on Monday but it was closed due to the weather. Starting to wonder if its worth it for a bit with all the BE events being cancelled. Must be great to have an all weather one, hope you have a fab time.

ive been pushed into doing a couple of dressage tests on Sunday. Nothing major just intro C and prelim 7 at the local centre. I haven't ridden much lately so my expectations of the day are to stay on board

.

Haha hardly! :D Been hibernating in bed trying to shake off this cold, it's really floored me :(

Quiet weekend here, arena hire for Salty on Saturday. That's about it... kira has a lesson on Tuesday.

Have fun everyone :)

Grumble away, you're definitely in good company!

This field usually has cows in from late Feb, but this year it is instead featuring a fresh water spring:

I had a lovely trip xc today meeting up with Lev and J, so she got to meet my idiot horse at his most, er, expressive, as he was most jolly to be out xc after 9 months of no jumpies. The course was unusually busy - it seemed like most of the north Gloucestershire/Herefordshire eventing community had turned up desperate to get some practice in the only open course for miles.

Other than that, I have a lesson on Sunday, which I'm excited about, as my current lessons are really my horsey highlight right now :)

Have fun everyone

He was very expressive but also fantastic and very beautiful :) :) I would love a horse with that much boldness XC, Jensen is really depressing when he goes so stuffy and backward thinking like today..... I was driving home considering whether to feed him oats :D

Feeling slightly less hard done by about The clydesdale's hoof abcess as he's getting better and the show we were entered in this Saturday has cancelled and they've refunded our entry fees because everything's under water! More hot tubbing I guess.

Have fun everyone with better weather conditions

Im off to the first show of the year this weekend. Seeing as I have paid nearly £100 to register the Wee Coloured Job I should use it! So we will be heading out for just 1 in-hand class on Sunday.

So nice to have a hack and jump in the sunshine today! We are heading out to dressage this weekend now we are feeling back on form.

Hoping to head to an all weather XC soon in preparation for events at the end of April. However not evening holding out hope for them at the moment.

My lesson was very good again - worked on introducing shoulder in on a circle in all paces, changebility within the pace whilst keeping frame and asking for a little more roundness in the canter

Homework now is to work more in canter than trot and to keep the roundness in the transitions

Nice water feature :eek3:

Aye, it's perfectly acceptable to be grumbling about the weather as it's still mainly in a school or all weather stuff this weekend I suspect. Sounds like lots of fun plans though. That does ofc mean lots of reports after the weekend

Had an awesome lesson today. Haven't ridden much for a few weeks so was amazed we managed to not forget everything we've learned ! Did some walk work as that's our weakest pace and where we seem to lose most marks. F is so funny, he tries so hard to do well, that you can almost feel him screw his face up in concentration! Did some lovely sideways and canter work too so v chuffed.

Good luck with your plans everyone, I do hope the weather is kind to us this weekend.

We're going away for 4 whole days! I haven't been away from the horses for more than 1 overnight for YEARS! I'm actually pooping a proverbial even though I know that between the YO and my freelance groom friend they'll be well looked after. But I'm such a control and routine freak I'm struggling.

Needs must though and also omg a holiday?!

I hope those of you with plans can finally get out and about in some more pleasant weather!

Dabdab, that looks miserable, and exactly what I picture as English weather!

We have XC training tomorrow morning, then set up for a SJ day hubs is judging on Sunday. Sunday I am also going to take my baby horse to my coaches arena to work him before a clinic we have there on Monday and Tuesday. I'm really excited for this clinic, the coach is amazing and gets awesome results, she's changed my dressage life :D

Where has the sun gone??!!! It was lovely yesterday!

I'm on a polework clinic on saturday and then having a bash at some prelim tests at Reaseheath on the Sunday... instructor has noticed our flatwork is lovely and relaxed until I go into 'test mode' then I get horribly tense and my poor horse wonders what on earth I'm doing. So main focus is to stay relaxed and ride forward - oh and also to remember how to plait up as it's been a long time since I've done that too!

Same here! We've got to the point where he does a lovely warm up, then we go giraffe like in the test and I forget to ride! Good luck and hope, you crack it.

I was meant to be taking my horse to stadium eventing tomorrow for the first time but OH forgot that there is a big family birthday so that is no longer happening! Dressage lesson today, will school early tomorrow morning and then probably a nice hack Sunday or even a hack to my friend's yard and a bit of jumping before hacking back.

After yesterday's glorious sun and today's somewhat hazier version, the forecast is now grey drizzly rain all weekend :(

Indio has been feeling incredibly well, I felt like I was water-skiing around the arena in my lesson on Tuesday. The great part of that was that he was hanging on BOTH reins, which feels like progress after years of him hanging on the right rein! The usual order was restored in a test riding clinic yesterday, when he felt a bit flat and I felt like we need to go back to Prelim :( Hopefully just a blip as we're off to a competition on Sunday for short arena Novice and Elementary. We really should be confidently doing Ele now but thanks to the weather we've only managed one test in the last six months!!

Pocholo will have a long hack tomorrow then a potter in the school on Sunday. He was supposed to be at Calmsden ODE and feels fit and raring to go - ho hum!

Well I have a flat work lesson with my new Fancy Dressage Instructor tomorrow . These are going well, we’ve been doing quite a bit of leg yielding into canter plus I’m starting to learn how to use my seat properly as an aid (sad that the past 30 years lessons didn’t teach this, still...) She is also rather unkindly making me do a lot of trot without stirrups

Sunday we are doing a small arena event. Assuming I don’t do anything stupid I will report back!

I'm off to attempt Cowboy dressage on Sunday, she's being better behaved away from home at the moment so I hope that continues. The weathers not looking great so I will be yet again hoping for no rain...

It's Kira's birthday today :D

So she had a cake, of course

Cold seems to be retreating so I had a woozy sit on Salts, looking forward to a nice ride indoors tomorrow :D
