Italy is endemic.It exists in Spain and is not unknown in France.
Italy does not insist on the slaughter of positive equines but insists on total isolation from any other equine by something like 500 metres (?). Total isolation means just that-the horse involved is condemned to live on his own for the rest of his days(if he doesnt die quickly) with no contact whatsoever with any type of equine. Better off slaughtered if you ask me
