Well, the OP was at a lesson with soem dressage rider, £50 for half an hour, three of them in the lesson, the trainer stayed in the corner, talked to the observers, muttered something about losing the wil to live then her grooms brought in her own horses that she popped on and off throughout the lesson. The someone else posted that the instructor comes on here so the OP felt obligied to delete the post.
I really feel that is so wrong, why can she not express this opinion, what a shocking way to have a clinic, certainy not good for the sport IMO no matter who the person is surely positive and negative reviews should be allowed to be aired.?
That's £300 an hour!!! Surely to france she is wihtin her right to mention she is peeved? Or is it libalous cause its on a forum? But surely not if its her view on her own lesson that she paid good money for?
obv when she does it i move away so take scary vibrating thing away, im guessing this is wrong thing to do so gona get OH to hold her whilst i hold trimmer(easier to use than clippers as no cord) next to her etc and not gona take them away til she stops kicking does this sound a good idea??
Evening all, just a quick hello and goodbye as I'm off for an early night. As last night - I was planning on going to bed earlier but didn't happen. So I'm heading off now, friend is putting Belle out in morning so that gives me a bit of a breather cos otherwise I'd be rushing around all morning. Lizzie is coming to finish Belle's clip tomorrow so I'll be up early afternoon.
She was fine in new field all on her own. Yard staff brought other horses in too and she was alone but she was happy as larry when I arrived, and gave me a demo of a beautiful extended trot on her way to the gate. So I can officially stop worrying now.
She is perfectly entitled to her own opinion, and if someone is charging for a service, she has every right to complain if it is not up to standard, or, not to her expectation.
If the instructor was riding her own horses in the clinic and not teaching at all, then I think that is taking money for nothing. May even be false advertising, and possibly trading standards matter!!
There are 2 very well known dressage riders that do clinics at a RS near here - I think they charge £60 an hour for one and possibly a bit more for the other. For that you get them and no one else and after watching one of them teach - you get shouted at and worked bloody hard for the money!! But that is what I would expect for my money - certainly not being ignored and have other riders.
You can't just advertise your services, and then provide nothing in return for money. Even if you are a well respected and well known name in your particular field.
The problem here is that the person was advertising a "teaching" clinic, and by definition that involves teaching!!! If during the session no "teaching" took place, then I think they have every right to have their money back
Idlp - that is exactly how we get ours used to clippers
I know I feel quite ranty about this too I just feel just cause your famous doesn't mean you can rip people off their hard earned cash - I mean its the crunch you know!
. Just go slowly and only do it for a short space of time and it build it up over a few days. Don't forget to make sure you both have steel toe caps on just in case!! And make sure she isn't tied up but OH is holding the lead rope and has gloves on just in case she panics a bit. When she seems happy about them keep them running near her and on her everyday until she just ignores them while she munches her hay etc.
Good luck with it - just remember to take it slowly.
what i mean is put them on her so she can feel and when she stands still and behaves then they leave her alone, im thinking she keeps cow-kicking because thats made them go away before so...
Hot chocolate, ovaltine, coffee, tea and Horlicks are all available.....
