Is Darcy in at night now? I would let him be a minger tomorrow and then clean him up and put his plaits in hanging to the right tomorrow night and then put him to bed - that way you can hot cloth him in the morning to clean up any minging bits and redo any plaits that need doing and just fold up your plaits and voila ready to go!!

You don't want to be up any earlier then you have to be!!

So RG, I've just watch the video, can I ask a few questions?

This horse looks as though it has had some schooling, is it an older horse? Do you find that the horse has a "long" stride?

It's just that, I think you should take your stirrups down a hole, and try and bring your leg back slightly. The horse appears to know the aids, but, needs to be more "together". Try and raise your hands slightly as well. Nice horse and you have ridden very well.

she look lovely RG, no CC as I think you ride nicely, but your saddle looks quite far up her neck? maybe worth putting it a little further back. but then it may just be the video!

f_s: She's about 13. My friends horse, but he can't be bothered to even visit her, so I give her something to do.
I haven't noticed her stride to feel long, I just notice that she won't budge lol, my friend has taught her to do a really collected slow canter, and I can't get her to go faster.
I will try what you've suggested

I did think about the saddle too, but wasn't sure whether it was the video, and the angle!!

If it isn't, I agree, saddle too far forward. Put your saddle on the horse, pull it up over the withers, then, push with the heel of your hand until it stops going back. This is the natural lie of the saddle.

Nothing much to say from me RG, lovely horse and you're a very quiet rider!

They could maybe move forward a teenie, teenie, teeeeeeeenie bit more but being you've only ridden them 4 times you ride her really nicely!

Means alot to be told I ride her well. I have no confidence in my riding, and expected to have a huge list of CC :S
Her saddle may be too far forward, I've been told the same with Roos saddle *must learn where to put the saddle*

Hi RG!!

I just looked at the video to and think you are riding her well

. The two things that occurred to me are on the first canter you did you need to relax on the rein a bit so she can really stretch her legs out and canter as she looked as if she was bouncing up and down a bit as opposed to covering the ground and relax your arms/shoulders as your arms are a bit straight - you need to bend at your elbows more. But it is always strange when you are riding a different horse from your own and you are riding her nicely!

RG - I think that's why I thought she looked "long". Obviously if someone has taught her to canter slowly and very collected, she looks as though she is falling out "long". I don't know how to explain that, trying to find the words!!!

Legs, knee's, shoulders, hands, body , head all in different directions. Worst worst habit I've got is clinging onto the flipping inside rein

I make myself so angry

you should have more faith in your riding ability, your a nice quiet rider, and make a nice picture on a horse.
I always thought you ride Roo really nicely too!!
