Afternoon... Internet is FINALLY working... We have made many complaints to BT! Rode lumpy one bareback again this morning after teaching, and have left her in so she'll be in a right mood when I get up to the yard this evening when I'm done! Won't hurt her to be off of the grass though!!

Just make sure you don't move the week before Christmas like we did, the relatives just seem to home in on you even more when you're trying to sort things out, but really all you want to do is sit down and stuff a whole tin of quality street

Having woken in a positive mood after yesterdays blip, my instructor came to clip chunky monkey and guess what it didn't happen, i trotted him up for her to show her he was sound and as soon as i started running i said oh god he's lame isn't he, and he was

I couldn't believe it, after being lame Tuesday then sound Saturday and Sunday I'm thinking this could maybe have had some baring on his behavior yesterday although the more i think about it, it may have been because he hasn't got much grass in his field and the hay is not the same as yummy green grass and he's being grumpy cos of that

We took him in the school to lose lunge him and he was short in the shoulder and not striding forward properly, she had a good prod and thinks it's his shoulder due to his lameness on the school surface and not anything further down his leg or foot in which there is no heat etc.
So no clip and lame horse, happy days

first day back at work after the flu and really enjoyed it!

oh no, MrT. what's wrong with your house? what a pain for you. moving house sucks. have you unpacked already? i haven't.... i'm terrible. i'm still surrounded by boxes, wearing the same three outfits (PJs) day after day!

well, we're having a takeaway this evening, as health visitor braved the swine flu to visit me and stayed for AGES chatting away. she's going to get me some help for my eldest who is having a few problems. which is a relief, cos he's 12 now, and i'm worried that when he gets to 15 he's going to be off the rails.

oooh, is that the OH pulling up with my thai food? i do hope so...

Havent enjoyed a hack for a long time! The ground was peeeerfect too, so think I'll be off on a hack tomorrow too!

Took Kevin the Kieffer out for a drive / bit of fresh air today and let him have a ride on the ned

He didn't look too narrow on him as it turns out but better to be safe than sorry. Have left a text with the Saddler and so will give her a ring tomorrow

Well I didn't poo pick, yaaayyyyy, pony was still a bit footy but alot better than last week so will keep on with the keratex til farrier due next, then I will decide whether she needs back shoes or not.
We met the 3 musketeers ( mates out riding) and I didn't think she would go past them as started to get rather nappy, but a few hard wacks and legs on she gave up and we finished off a lovely hack. My confidence is getting so much better with her now, I'm so so chuffed with myself

Think the worst tantrum Darcy had was certainly the one at camp. It was this awfully steep hill that everyone was pottering down but heck...it's much more fun to turn around, run backwards down it whilst rearing! How we stayed upright I have no idea... Oh, and then we had a fantastic capriole off the bottom of it!

I wasn't bothered by it..just ended up yelling "What are you PLAYING at!!" at him from the bottom of the hill, frog -marching him to the top and making him go down it nicely

No its keratex hoof hardener, and you brush round the bottom of outside wall and underneath but not on the frog

hope it works sam - we used cornecresin (spl??) to help with the growth and hardening of my ex racer's feet and it worked a treat! Bloody stinks though!

Today was a very very good day - Ted has realised that a pole won't hurt him and walked, trotted and cantered over it very confidently today! So so happy
