Well I am up early as the new arrival - 16 month old labrador - doesn't do lie ins!! So we have been for a walk and fed all the horses and ponies and are now having some brekkie! But Max has been a very good boy and has met the horses this morning - no chasing - and didn't chase the chooks either!!

Am just sitting here trying to decide the order of my day - I have 2 horses to ride and have to take Max to friends so they can meet him and he can play with their 3 dogs!! carnage.....

oooh, how is max? has he settled in? any howling in the night?

can't believe he didn't chase the chooks or horses... does he want to come and give my dog a few lessons?

i'm off to a few fencing suppliers today (party on) and also trying to work out how to scrabble together 600quid before payday so we can go and pick up the little shetland today - otherwise we'll have to wait another week...

my eldest returns from his holiday today (went with his best friend and their grandparents) so the house will once again be filled with the smell of teenage boy.

Max was a good boy and slept through the night - mind you the three walks he had yesterday might have helped!! Just woke up a 6 - didn't bark or anything just made enough noise to wake up Sweep (my old spaniel) which means I have to get up!!

Your hayfever probably isn't real hayfever - the pollution in cities especially Brum - makes you more sensitive to allergens such as pollen. You will find it will disappear when you are out of Brum, worse when when you are there and for a while after you leave.

D and I are sat thinking of where I've worked. Telford made me sneeze, a lot! London didn't though. If this is how people who suffer from hay fever feel for a good part of the year, they have my sympathies! I feel yack.

Tack shop sounds fun. I'm contemplating a trip out somewhere (my Birthday trip), but am trying to not spend anything - the excesses from the vets fees this year have been painful, and now I want a trailer, so spending on non-essentials is not happening! What are you going to buy? Defo check out the pink

When I lived in Brum I could tell when they had cut the grass in the local park - about 300 yards away as I left the flat and I had 'hayfever' for the first time in my life. Now I live on a farm with rape fields everywhere - nothing!! I drove to Brum one day for work and as I got to about Jnc 5 of the M6 the pollution was so bad I had tears streaming down my face and thought I was going to have to pull over! The problem in Brum is the volume of cars etc especially when it is sunny as the pollution gets 'trapped'. Bleurgh.....!!!

Had a lesson this morning...well...instructor not there, so we were left to our own devices. Nice chance to work with a school horse and be able to take time to think about it. He went really nicely too, a great confidence boost!

When (if) it stops raining, will take the spooky pony out for his straight-lines-only, no-lateral-work hack.

Oh, and I also need to do some work...

Hey all, what a night I have had - poor hubby has food poisoning so I got about 2 hours sleep so I've been out done the cuddies at top speed and then back to my poor wee ill soul. He's sleeping now so thought I'd pop on say hi!

Hope you are all well. After torrential rain this morning the sun is shining now which is always good!

Am back. Not for long as I'm meant to be having a family night watching King Kong, but the film isn't brilliant(!), so I'm hopping on and off here.

Girding m'loins for going to get the Dizzy one tomorrow. Can't believe my nice instructor said I could use her trailer, or the kind offers from so many people! Feels a bit weird thinking about bringing her home

I was looking at some piccies that daughter did for m'b'day, and she looks so big and special, I can't believe that she's mine! Plus, she's been ridden hard all week by people far better than me on far better surfaces than I have to offer. She must have been happy because she hasn't been weaving. Maybe she's more suited to life in a busy yard with regular (and good) riding.

Well, that turned into a bit of something I wasn't expecting!
