MIL didn't want a cake, so we all went back to my BIL's house and had some nice champagne and their children had made a cake for her!!!

It was a lovely day, but quite tiring. As you know my FIL isn't too well, and he put on a brave face, but London is hot and tiring for him.

My Dad is doing OK. He's still going to have his warfarin adjusted, but is a lot better thanks!!

Only problem is he still thinks he could manage 18 holes!!!! He's driving my Mum nuts!!

He's much better, chicken soup has stayed put so far but he's on the couch snoozing at the moment

f_s - glad he is feeling better - it takes about 6 months to get the warfarin right but its good that he wants to play golf again! Thats how we tell if my dad is really poorly or not - if he doesn't want to play golf we know he must be bad!!!

We are almost positive it was his Chinese last night - he ate it and about half an hour later felt ill then was sick literally all night every hour.

At the moment I'm fine - i need to be I've got school on Monday!!!

its a bit odd that he is poorly and you are not though - assuming you ate the same thing - what did he have earlier?

Was it rice??? That's usually the worst.

I've had salmomella and camphylobacter together, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, it was really awful!!!

I hope he's ok, the only thing I could drink was lucozade, as it tasted ok on the way back!!!!

Unfortunately the environmental health weren't too happy with the pub we ate at!!!

I had prawn ccktail then chicken fried rice, he had salt and chile ribs then shared the chicken fried rice so we think it was the ribs.

I'm looking forward to getting started on Monday - feel quite chilled about it all which I'm not sure is a bit strange - maybe I should be in a fankle?

Tomorrow I'm mainly sorting out horses, and dogs!!

Got to bath my mare, she really needs a good wash!!!

Other than that I suppose I'll have to do some cleaning and washing!!!

Pretty much the same really - riding the neds - will bath the coblet, walking the mutts (Max is lovely but has very little in the way of muscle

) and then some cleaning and washing. Need to start thinking about what I am going to decorate when I am on holiday and start doing some of the preparation and decide on things like colours!!!

For decorating at the moment I have the kitchen, bathroom - is going to be lavender/lilac, my bedroom - is going to be cream and pink - and the sitting room. Need ideas for colours though....kitchen is currently a dark blue and is north facing so gets no sunlight ever and sitting room is currently a dark wine red and is south facing and gets sun all day BUT it is a cottage and all the rooms are quite small so I want to try and keep the cosy look - any thoughts??

It's hard to decide colours. Our house is old, and we have had to decorate throughout!!

I've kept fairly neutral colours and then added splashes of colour to brighten it up a bit. For instance, one wall in a paper, or in the study I painted the back of the book shelves a dark green.

I agree you need to keep the cottage feel, so how about different fabrics and colours, some with small prints. I also think yellow is nice in a bedroom...wake up to the sun!!!
