Sweet FA.....Saturday!!!

This one....

I put a buy now price as you can't put a reserve on anymore - so at least if someone deperately wanted it it was a decent price for them and me - would obviously like more!! So fingers crossed!!!

I think its because it is the 'sellers' view of the auction - it has a buy now of £350. I spoke to someone who was looking for a similar saddle (wanted bigger leg rolls) who thought £350 was a good price - obviously lots go for more but I need to sell it rather than have it sitting around and I would be happy with £350. Also gives some one the chance to have saddler out and get it fitted and reflocked if needed for a decent price.

So how does it work now? You set the buy it now price, so bidders bid, but they won't be able to get it until the bids reach £350?

As you know, I'm easily confused

Its the chance you take - but its that or it sits around collecting dust as saddlers just don't want to take them anymore. If necessary I will try the local feed/tack shops and if that doesn't work there is always the tack auction at Melton Horse sales - but they usually make about £25 a saddle there!!

No you can't put a reserve price in anymore. If you put in a buy now price as well as an auction if someone sees it and wants it and doesn't want to run the risk of not winning the auction they can just buy it immediately for the price you have quoted - now it may mean that it sells for slightly less but it is a guaranteed sale so I felt worth doing because i would be happy with £350 - although as I said i would to make as much as possible!! When you consider that dressage saddles pretty much start at £800 these days £350 is a reasonable price.
