Sorry, sorry, sorry for my brief appearance yesterday. OH had the day off yesterday so we could get things done round here before winter sets in. Only came in to feed and water MiL

HELP PLEASE> Strange discovery this morning, chunky monkey has got a round patch of hair, the size of a side plate on his bum just above and right of his tail, where the hair has gone totally vertical and there’s no way on this planet that it wants to brush out, it just stays perfectly sticking up. I’m sure he hasn’t rubbed it cos I know when he does he ends up with tramlines and a tail like a bog brush, his tail hasn’t been touched. Any ideas????

Daughter gave LC a good work out last night, so he's happy chilling in the field. LL is now retired, so he's happy. Dizz's knee has gone down, so I'm happy, and she's trolling about the field so she's happy. A bunch of happy horses m'thinks

skippy - my coblet gets the occaisional patches like that - usually on her bum - it just happens as her coat grows/changes disappears as suddenly as it appears!! Thats really no help at all is it??

Today is a bit manic (yet i still find time to come on here!)
I have 2 to ride, and a youngster to lunge, before picking up my new showjumps at 1.30!!!!
Then horses to bed before i set about the epic mission of de - horseyfying myself by actually being clean, actually brushing my hair and finally pulling on a ballgown for the evening...

Does anyone who has had the Ferret cold like mine know how long it will last and when I will get my energy back?

Last Friday fine.
Friday evening sore throat
Sunday evening feeling better
Felt crap monday worse Tuesday worse wednesday better Thursday worse Friday I have a horrible cough and I feel not too bad until i go to do something and then all my energy goes down the plughole.

I am pretty fed up no really fed up extremelty fed up and with the yard being like a building site Drifter is like a pogo stick and now this sounds ridiculous but the final straw is my parents want me to go to sunday lunch.

I dont feel well and I have no appetite, my mum is frail and my dad is on permanent Oxygen so if they pick up a germ from me it wil be a hospital case for them and they want to have lunch at about 3pm and I want to be down at the horse for 4pm to bring him in give him his tea and make his bed.

Do you think I am just becoming a Grumpy old woman should I feel pressurised in going to Sunday Lunch when I dont feel well and just want to sit on the sofa and suck my thumb or feed my horse and wrap him up cosy

Have ridden the grey ned at 7.30 this morning - it was daaaaaaaark! And very, very cold . So, I admit to whipping out my nice new Rambo sheet

Taken out all the wet from my stable and put in another bale so that's all done.

Then just have to go down in a little while to ride my friends horse, should be fun! In the wind...

Thanks Slinky that's reassuring to know, just so weird how it sprouted over night. Just wondering now how I’m going to take him through the village without anyone looking, it’s kinda like a reverse clip or crop circle!!

So why do I feel so Guilty I feel like cr@p I know going could make them ill.

My mum is the loveliest kindest warm-hearted person in the world but for some reason I always feel manipulated when she decides she wants everyone over to lunch. Its phsycological I fear becaue as a child it always ended in shouting tears and cold gravy and cabbage and now at the tender age of 55 my brain still says oh bl@@dy h@ell no!! But thats mostly because my dad has too much rich food and whisky and wine and then we sit and wait for the paramedics yet a bloomin gain!!!
 
welll morning all i have just finished a short shift at work. now got to go and check the horses and pamper my sick boy and try and convince him he has got to pull himself together and get better. i just wish we could get to the bottom of what is wrong with him so we could try and make him better doing a trial with him this weekend and see how that goes as he may be heading back up to vet horsptal for Laparoscopy oh the joys
 
*shuffles in door as not sure if supposed or allowed to be in Sweet FA though from yesterday's one think possibly so..*

Ridden this morning which in the autumn sunshine was lovely and will be the highlight of weekend as have to be ballsy and go to a 50th birthday party tonight (friend's partner) and walk into an entire village hall full of people I don't know...I hate that. Then overnight in a luxurious (ha!) Premier Inn before heading into Devon to see sister for birthday pub lunch tomorrow. Will be sitting fretting whilst snorking roast lunch about horsey as new horse arrives on yard today and will be put out with the others tomorrow when I'm not around....blah...

Flibble, sounds like you're more poorly than you think, you need to rest up and take some time for yourself, give Sunday lunch a miss, they'll understand you're not well and if they don't then hey, they'll get over it.
We live with OH's mother, they have this uncanny knack of putting you under pressure and making you feel bad that your whole life doesn’t revolve around them, you have to rise above it sometimes, you have your life to lead to.

Afternoon everyone.

Just got back from the yard. Had lovely ride on Charlie this morning, haven't been out for such a long ride all summer. Went up to the Forrest and did a bit of exploring, found a really long, wide path that we had a good gallop up, didn't make it to the top though as Charlie wasn't fit enough

Didn't have any napping from him so I was really pleased. He got a bit spooky towards the end of the ride and had one major spook/spin round during one canter but I think that was because a Deer jumped out in front of us and was running along the path we were on.

For what I think must be the first time ever I took him without his martingale on, he was fine without it so I think I'll just use it when out in company from now on

We practiced going long and low whilst we were walking which he seems to be getting more consistent with it.

He was very sweaty when we got back so I gave him a nice wash down with warm water.......he's not spoilt at all

Lunged Millie whilst I was up there, she went really well and was really listening to me. She actually stays out on the circle now which makes life a lot easier. Need to do more work on getting the correct canter lead on the left rein, she gets it wrong more then she gets it right

I,m late, so afternoon all, been to do my boys and i have sorted there manes and tails out the shetties tail was on the floor nearly dragging. My nf has let me spray his main and tail with canter sheen without once moving away so that pleased me.

Evening all, just in for a quick hello - I'm loving all our new SweetFA'ers - welcome to all.

Slinks, I've opened a posh bottle of vino - white tho but anyone want a wee glass?

Had a v busy day, cleared all my stables out and then put in my new rubber mats - would you believe Pads and Al didn't even acknowledge them!

Lol, anyhoo - how are we all?
