Sweet FA...SATURDAY!

I have a full bed with banks around the edges. Reasoning behind this is that I cant find any 17hh sized feather mattresses and he does like to curl up like a big cat at night and I feel that if he has to sleep in a stable his bed should be soft and cuddly. He pees fir britain and this way the top layer is always nice.
 
SV it's trial and error! Like HC says... sometimes the wee gets mooshed around when they have a thin bed, but if they do have a thick bed more gets taken out in the long term...

There's a horse on our yard who's no longer on shavings as he poops and wees so much and has been put onto straw - but it's made it worse as his stable now stinks!!!

Also the thing is with thinner beds, rugs tend to smell more and they soak up more of the "juice" lol.

We do our wet every other day, that's why they're slightly thicker than they probably ought to be, but it works out more economical and it's actually easier to take out the wet when it's more compacted in a layer.
 
Dizz poos for England! She has rubber matting and a thin sprinkling of shavings. It's a well draining stable. I always have to swoosh it out with buckets of water

She used to have a deep bed, but she is such a disgusting mare that it was wheelbarrow loads!
 
FS - phew! I know it can be a sensitive subject with people! people at work gets ridiculously pissed off when us non smokers start moaning about the smell... but then I think they know we only do it to take the mick

Wanted to get involved with the Secret Santa that's being set up in SB. Asked if I could join last night but was apparently too late as entry's had closed. Another thread has been posted about it tonight and two new people have been allowed to join in

arm is doing great guns can do most things now though its still the little odd thing which gets it, managed to clip, ride and pull mane today. Lesson tommorrow and then first outing next sat as me and frank tackle our first BD test.

....if you have time pay a visit to the Gellert Baths - the massage there is the best ever and the indoor market is worth a visit too and you will get to eat goulash - a lot!!

I havent affiliated yet, not sure if can afford to and we do so many different things but thought would go out and do some prelims without joining and see how we get on and perhaps some novices on a ticket.

Am planning for the future really as getting to the age where he perhaps doesnt need to jump as much as he has in the past and it gives him another job. He is also a show off so it suits
