Well as i am a complete stress head yet again into the wee small hours i thought i would start the post of. Toby has had a very bad day today and is heading back into the vet school tomorrow. i feel raly down harded about the whole situation and i just can't see a way round him getting any better at this present moment. i know that we just need to take every day as it comes so here is hoping . hope eeryone has a good day
 
I'm afraid to break it to you, but it's thursday!

I'm sorry i have no advice but i can offer a *hug* and in the absence of MrsM a hot choccy? Mine won't be as good, but it's made with real chocolate and milk. No marshmallows though i'm afraid! And then get your bum to bed. Looking at pretty pictures in the PG has just calmed me right down and de-stressed me too. x
 
Toby has been quite unwell for about 3 weeks. the vets have done quite a lot of tests so far but are no closer to finding out what is wrong with him. In the meantime he is going down hill and not got any better so hopeful we will start to get on answers good or bad. he has been in my own vets twice and in vet school once already in the last 3 weeks

I'm just about ready to head off to work... Thursday is my day of hell, so I can't really say I'm looking forward to it! With any luck the school will have turned the heating on so my feet don't feel like icicles, especially as I'm sat in the room for at least 5 hours. It's actually warmer OUTSIDE than it is in! Taking a thermometer with me today so I can see if it's as cold as it feels, or if I'm just being a wuss!

Well I’m prepping for horsepital visit tomorrow for neds X-rays and maybe nerve blocks. I’m not sure they will allow such a filthy specimen of a horse through the doors, that lovely grey I had Tuesday disappeared yesterday when he decided to have the longest rolling session in the glorious rain

T - no doubt your vets have ruled this out, but the first thought that sprang to mind was poisoning or an allergy. I so hope this comes right hun. SOR's hot chocolate is no doubt wonderful, and here are some marshmallows to add to it. Hugs hunny.

Morning guys my antibiotics appear to be working.

Wont be a good day today horse wormed and within 2 mins had trashed his stable having a tantrum as the headcollar didnt mean turnout.

Lesson learnt always put a headcollar on so he doesnt know the difference.

I'm bloody knackered again, this early morning malarky definitely doesn't agree with me.

I've got new mammy syndrome this morning as I'm worried that the neck on Belle's rug is too big, she has 2 rugs on and I'm worried one will slip and she'll panic. Plus, tried to out her in new field this morning, tramped all the way across the mud, then discovered there were no other hoses in that field so had to bring her back in and put her in the small paddock that she's been in all winter, so YO probably thinks I'm mad when she arrives this morning. I'm gonna have to find another horse I can put her out with so she doesn't panic as I can't afford to pay for yard staff to put her out.

Working from home this morning then uni from 1 til 8.15 urrrrgh means I wont get in til 8.45 ish

Pixie is still lame, can't work out what it is, I gave her hooves a good scrub yesterday and couldn't find anything. Her soles do seem very soft and crumbly though, any ideas if this would make her lame?
I was going to poultice her but I thought it might make her soles even softer which I think would make her worse

So, tikino - I know that Toby was out on loan, have you contacted them to find out if he had any other problems there? What were their fields like? Could he have ragwort in the hay? Did they feed him something else etc etc?

You've probably covered all this anyway, but just a suggestion, as poor Toby needs to get well again

Oh dear, everyone seems a bit down today!! Big hugs for Toby, I do hope they get to the bottom of it. Lemsip and Homes Under The Hammer for the sick people.

I've just been told our proposal for more work on the programme I'm on has been accepted so no time twiddling my thumbs on the metaphorical consultants' bench, yay!! Also just booked viewings for three village properties on Saturday and got someone coming to view my property tonight so double yay! Gradually moving closer to a horse of my own

SV big hugs - pig flu is so crap - I was off with it for 2 weeks in july. never had a headache like it!!

right off to uni guys have a fun afternoon and those doing not much and having fun with ponios very jealous!!
 
Well here is a dumb thing for you. I have been working from home for 2 years now but OH was always at work. He retired early in June and today he is off vsisting his mum and oh God I miss him.

He brings me cups of tea and makes me bacon sandwiches and today I understand the american phrase 'Missing you already' I thought it as he put his shoes on to go out the door.

I suppose I am lucky really having a bloke I like so much even if he is boring and farts a lot.

P.S. Antibiotics seem to be kicking in I only feel like I have cheese in my face instaed of cheese and concrete!!
 
OMG I have just been given permission, by OH, to buy not one, but two turnout rugs! Yippee! I had to put poor Belle out this morning in a damp turnout (with a dry neck bit) and put a lightweight underneath it so she couldn't feel the damp, that's awful I know but it was either that or keep her in and she's more likely to make herself ill being in as she dances so much she sweats really badly and then she'll not only get a chill, but probably also colic from the stress. Lesser of two evils I figured. But tomorrow she will have a lovely new heavyweight rug with a neck, with a spare in case she gets rained on. I'm so excited! Prepared for any weather conditions now. And I plan to get my lightweights cleaned and stored for next year. I'm on my way to being a fully fledged horse owner!
