So pleased you have found a nice home for him!!

f_s - whats the job we need details.....

DL - Nixon would look like a swamp monster but he is so busy eating his extended paddock he hasn't got time!!

Another reason to celebrate - i took my boy out for a litttle hack on his own - and he was a v good boy - no napping or silliness and we did the two scary bridges that horse eating trolls live under.....

So all in all I think the Sweet FA posse needs

The job is only at the local supermarket, on the till for one day a week, but, as the kids are all a lot older and doing their own thing, and can help with the horses, of course, I thought it might just give me something else to think about!!!

they just phoned me to ask if I'd do a weeks trial first to see how he settles in
confused.gif

And asked if I'd throw the saddle in for £100, do they think I'm stupid
mad.gif

Hm, i suppose on the one hand it'd show them that you're genuine . But on the other hand, you ARE only up the road..and how much can you do in a week anyway ?
confused.gif

Que????
k030.gif

Are you going to let them?
confused.gif

It'll take longer than that to let the horse settle surely!!!

f_s - like you say its a bit of extra cash and it gets you out and about!! I did a stint in Homebase on the tills when I was a student - its amazing how badly some people treat you when you are working on a till!! Still it used to amuse how I could slow them down etc - its amazing how often your till roll jams etc etc etc hehe!!

samstar - say yes to a MONTHS trial - how much was the saddle?

Could you not say that to her? I'm sure she'd understand - hopefully. If she knows of the horse/ you then she must be able to take your word for it.

Get HP on here

I've told them no to the saddle.

Do I look I'm easy pushover.

Don't know now on letting him go on trial, she did ride him well and cantered him. She really likes him. OMG why isn't life easy
frown.gif

Look at it this way, if you give her a weeks trial, make sure you state that a week is not really long enough for any horse to settle into a new environment, and write it on the invoice!!

A week is no time for a horse to settle...if she really likes him she'll stick to the original deal and lump it...cheeky feckwit

I'm really cross on your behalf...

the reason they said a weeks trial is cos daughter mentioned him mounting mares and all there horses are all in together and allowed free roam of all the ground. Why couldn't she have kept stum

With an ordinary horse thats fair enough but H is 'special'

. They are buying a project horse and I think should take him as he comes. They have a bargain and should just honour the deal instead of pushing for more
mad.gif

Has he mounted mares a lot, or is this a one off?

Also, will they expect him to go out into the herd straight of?? If so, i would think mounting the mares would be the least of their problems!!!

Most horses need some time to adjust and be introduced to others and a week isn't going to do that!!! Not in my experience anyway, and mine live as a herd!!...and I had a very riggy gelding!!!

Ooops!!!! Well, I think let her have him on a weeks trial, after all, they must be aware of horses needing to settle, and I think you are right, you do need to take that chance!!

Don't worry, he'll be fine

but he's fine with geldings

What do they want him on a trial for?...To see what? He's a project...because he's nervy FFS....a project that humps mares..so don't put him out with mares...sorted

Can you tell I'm annoyed

Hey all, just back home and read up in the post goings on - D_L Darcy won't shrink, he'll be fine, he's a horse and he's waterproof so dn't worry. Slinks - well done for the hack. f_s well done on the job.

Now Samstar ... yes I think that they are getting a project to work on so they should take it as that, noone gets a trial these days so I probably would have said no but I can understand why you have said yes. With regards to the mounting, had your daughter not mentioned it and he caused injury and it came back that you had known that he could behave in this way you could be held liable for any costs from injury so it may have come back and bit u in the butt if you hadn't said. I would however make sure that you make it clear that you think he should be in a geldings only field as he MAY do this again and it is on their own discretion if they put him in a mixed field. The reason I am saying this is I had to do the exact same with a horse I sold for a friend due to the exact same reasons.

Anyhoo, hope we are all well xx
