Good morning sweet FA!

I am just about awake.... Went to see We Will Rock You last night and got to bed rather late. It was AMAZING! Haven't seen it for a few years (saw it 3 or 4 times in London), and it was just as good as I remember, although it had been updated a bit. Killer Queen was played by Brenda from X Factor (2005 I think?), and she was FANTASTIC.

Off to teach now... It's gonna be a long morning....

Good morning peeps as some of you might be aware i ate too many jaffa cakes last night and i am feeling a little icky still ! . Also i need a few vibes my mare snoopy is being scanned this morning so fingers crossed for a new foal of my very own.

Feeling better today - Ted was amazing, and I have made an official decision that I am going to buy him asap. So waiting for this months pay check - getting some funds from the bank and then going ahead and buying him - so very very excited

Even though I want to do British Eventing and he's no where ready - jumping wise, his Dressage is top notch, so I'm going to join British Dressage after doing some unaffiliated competitions and seeing how we go

Morning all! A second night of insomnia (seems to be a fair bit around, must be the weather...) means I'm already feeling sleepy at work. Went to see Jan Ravens, the impressionist from Dead Ringers, last night at the Lyric in London. Saw Angus Deayton in the bar, which was impressive as I never spot celebs. Jan's impression of Nigella Lawson filling out a tax return literally had me in tears!

Just 11hrs til riding tonight...

Snoop - good luck with the two tummies (your's and your mare's!)
Skip - I'm sure the lesson will be great!

Morning all, haven't been on here over the weekend - had a busy one.

It's horrible here today, been raining all night and still is now, it's one of those horrible days where you get wet the minute you step out of the door, and your car gets all steamed up within seconds of getting in it!

Been up to put Belle's medium weight rug on this morning, took her boots off and gave her legs a good rub but put boots back on as the fields are wet and I'll be back up at 3 anyway as the dentist is coming.

Morning everyone,

It's been raining most of the night here, not sure if that is a good or bad thing, the ground has been so hard so it will be nice for it to soften up but I'm sure now the rain has come it will stick around till spring next year

At work at the moment but will be leaving an hour early so I can ride before starting my other job, will go for a quick hack and then do 15 minutes schooling in preperation for our lesson tomoorrow.

First time I posted on a sweet FA thread..hope I am allowed

Raining here in North Wales but warmer than yesterday, we have the builders at our farm converting a ruined old cow shippon into a office for me and a holiday flat above so its a total nightmare as scaffolding everywhere and my mothers whippets are terrified of the builders so keep legging it down the drive. My JRT's are in their kennel and are constantly howling at the builders..they sound like chipmunks

I was up at 4am as not slept for getting on 2 months since I destroyed my elbow getting launched off a Exmoor and landing on a jumping pole elbow first - Ouch! Elbow is getting better but I have now damaged my shoulder as been over using it compensating for my elbow.

Sent Brand new faulty clippers back to Lister - Not happy about that

Then I complained to wynnstay Farmers H/O about the way my parents were treated in a local store as parents dont speak Welsh no one would basically serve them so OH had to go back down to get what we needed ...he is fluent in welsh.

So been a 'complaining' sort of day really

Doing entries for dressage on Sunday now which will be my first outing since I damaged the elbow woo hoo. I only have Natives so do hope I dont get laughed at with my Welsh Cob and Connemara!

Morning all - or afternoon rather . am off work again with grotty cold and feeling very fed up. You would have though 8 pencillins a day would be clearing it up. any other ideas??

Not saying all English people are paranoid but how do you know they weren't speaking Welsh before you arrived? Lots of people do all their buiness and socialising in Welsh all the time, especially in areas of West and North Wales. It really is used as an everyday first language by a lot of people. Do you accuse the French of switching from English to French when you arrive?

I'm a Welsh speaker but don't really use it in social settings or when I'm out and about and don't have much of Welsh accent so I could be considered English by some in those areas (most are pleasantly surprised when I speak Welsh to them) and I've never heard anybody switch languages after assuming I don't speak Welsh.

Well I'm sorry about that, they give all us Welsh speakers a bad name. I have never and will never do it. But neither will I change from Welsh to English just because I might offend someone I don't know.
 
Well I was born and bred in North Wales and am fluent in Welsh, my father is too but rarely speaks Welsh as Mum doesnt understand. This particular store are much more comfortable if you speak in Welsh not happy at all if they have to speak in English and not as helpful which I think is awful.

I speak Welsh to them when I there as otherwise would never get a thing - they order Suregrow in for me. Basically my parents asked them to order an item which they denied they stocked and said they had never stocked ...odd we thought ordered the last one from this very store...OH toddled back to the store when parents told him what had happened...spoke Welsh and hey presto Part was available and delivered 2 days later!!

I feel it was very unfair to treat people in a different way just because they speak English. Courtesy and manners go a long way....

Samstar am very sorry you had that experience, it is a very rude and ignorant thing to do imo.
 
Marymary - not just unfair but illegal as well. Under the Welsh Language Act you're not allowed to discriminate against people on grounds of any official language. That means English as well as Welsh. BOTH languages have to be treated equally. Crikey, we're getting political today! If only I wasn't on a diet I could have some choccy and chill out.
 
Lol yes I pointed that out to that chap in charge of Wynnstays Retails Stores....he was not happy at all about it ! He was also not happy when I pointed out that after 25yrs of using the Co our weekly feed and shavings order for 25 horses is now being placed elsewhere.

I would like Choccy too but its Ryvita and Laughing Cow lite for me...not quite the same!
 
Does night nurse help you sleep even without a cold?

I am having difficultly sleeping at the moment, takes me nearly two hours to get to sleep and then I wake up about 6 times through the night
