are the rambo rugs really worth what they cost? coz as you know im in the market for a new rug for girlie and a heavyweight one for the colder days, i need one thats indestructable.
IMO yes they are. I think I've said before that I have one Rambo rug which is about 12/13 years old. The rest are wearing well too, and I have a lot of rugs!!!
Yep slinky, dogs most definately gave us a good work out today! Also decided to lunge the pony and she was having a wee little strop herself.. stopped when she realised she still had to work though
Just bought a feed bucket for the new one, thought I may as well
Idlp I'd personally suggest looking at some other stores due to those being quite expensive, seen a few sales on around that are doing those for almost half the price for a HW
Think one is horserugs4u, (not totally sure) a leaflet with it on came with the BHS magazine today.
You could go for the Amigo plus (200g) mw turnout, or even the hw. It depends on how much you want to spend. With the Amigo's just watch that they are not too short on the sides, especially if your horse is deep bodied!
The actual Rambo supreme ones are very good, but they are costly!!!
ldlp111 - i LOVE rambo rugs... i'm currently eyeing up the Rambo Duo turnout... yum yum yum... but don't think i'll ever be able to justify the price to my hubby... or bank manager...
scotsmare - your farrier shouldn't shout and swear at you... my god, i'd CRY if mine did (and i'm not even joking...)
slinky - i reckon i'll stick to addenbrookes to have c-section... as i'm booked in there and my other two were born there... BUT... i do think i need to look at what my local hospital will be up there, just in case i go into labour when my hubby is at work... as he works 90mins away, and then another 90mins to addenbrookes.... that's a long long time....
madwife - i can't rest... i'm sooooo stressed.... oh, and it's my third. i moved during last pregnancy too... though not quite as late.... i think it's a strange 'nesting' instinct...my mum says it's more like de-nesting...
solicitor is pushing our buyers. who have apparently said they'll try to get to their solicitor this week to sign etc... argh... i'm going to sit my butt on the sofa, and try to enjoy my first official day of maternity leave.
Sold to the highest bidder!!! Bet you have no nails left now!!
I think the hw ones with a detachable neck cover are the best, as P_P says (she would!!) you can take it off if it gets a bit sunny to let them breathe and I find the attached ones rub their manes!!
Yeah, they do have a gap but it doesn't make much difference and if really worried you can get a bib that goes up their neck to stop the wind getting in too much, or just chuck a blanket on underneath
Its always nice to have a detachable neck, less rubbed manes, generally a bit lighter and you can fold them back if stood still in the yard waiting to be groomed and hosed off
Walked up to him in the field, to find gash on his face about an inch long - not too nasty but stripped of hair - looks like he had a near miss with someones foot and its taken the top layer of skin off
Well that will look good on Sunday!!!
And he kept trying to kick me as I tried to clean his leg
How can I clean it without him striking out?! Does he want to loose his leg to an infection?
And THEN he napped in the middle of the road over ...the triangular road markings at a junction . I need say no more. I won
But 200 yards down the road someone with a whistle in the field scared the heebie jeebies after him, and I was just getting no where so I had to hop off and persist in frog-marching him past the horse eater.
Thats why they get boxed, no hacking and never see another horse Darcy But he'd hate it! Horse's like to make us work hard for them just put it down to that I think
I think he's just being a bit of a tart , I took him for said light hack today to keep everything moving a bit but he wasn't stiff/ lame/ swollen. It was a little warm this morning after the night in but when I brought him in for the plod it had cooled right off again. Just looks nastier than it is I guess
Just crept in under the door to say me and my horse is friends again and apparently he is sorry for scaring the wotsits out of me yesterday. He is so sorry that when I lunged him he went (trumpet fanfare please) long and low!! Its only taken me a year to find it.
I was so surprised I thought he was about to either faint or roll!!
I am using one of those special lungeing aids you can buy for horses now let me see what is it called ?
Ah yes I have it - A Bridle A lunge Line and a Lunge whip
