Milagra this morning:

Photos don’t look as bad as real life- she looks like she has mumps.

I did let her out onto the longer grass yesterday from 10am-4pm but she doesn’t usually react to it and came in fine. She’s had short grass and hay overnight. Hay is from usual supplier and she has been eating it when she’s in.

No new horses on yard, and no horses within a mile of yard.

My brain says grass glands, calm down, leave off longer grass and reevaluate in the morning. This is probably what I’d tell someone else if it was their horse. My neuroses are kicking in and my fingers are itching to call the vet.

I would suspect grass glands. Weather conditions changing, moving to long grass. I don't know for sure but I dont think the glands up there swelling is likely anything infectious and if it has come up quickly it isn't melanoma which can present there. Plus I've only seen pictures of that in grey horses in that location.

Chiming in to say the same.
My glandy one has sprouted them again in the last week. she has huge ones in the spring, then they go away over summer and then back again now.
