High upon a hillside
Hi guys, you may remember my post earlier in the year with my horse going barefoot, but being on box rest and getting a swollen sheath. With full turn out at the end of August his sheath issue resolved itself.
However he was brought in at night in the second week of November and I have now noticed a hard swelling on the side of his sheath again, afaik judging by his stable he s still weeing normally. He's never had this before and has been on the same regime on the same grass with the same hay supplier for the last nine years. Our hay this year is very good, so do you think it's possibly high protein hay causing the swelling? Hard feed wise he gets fast fibre, speedibeet and micronised linseed. I soaked his hay today (well tipped two buckets of water over it this morning when I put it in the hay bar for this evening) I just wanted to ask for opinions
