Synthetic corn brooms?!

Hello, I've googled this but cannot find any - thought you lovely knowledgeable folk might be able to help?!

My 'Quidditch' aka my synthetic corn broom, aka my most prized (non-sentient!) possesion, was unfortunately beheaded/his neck snapped! three weeks ago now, and not only cannot find a replacement body/neck for him, I cannot even locate a complete replacment despite extensive searching.

(He came to me as a present from a fellow livery when they were visiting a far-flung show a couple of years ago, even then he is unbranded and was in a trade stand sale so cannot trace him!)

His head is black stiff bristles and has some red binding and his body/neck is grey.

In desperation I bought a corn broom yesterday but the poor thing cannot deal with the current conditions, she's rather much softer than previous corn brooms I've owned.

Just want my Quidditch back!!!!
The only similar thing I've seen online was the Red Gorilla deluxe brooms - look stunning(!) but concerned they are going to be too soft? Need it for wet conditions; Quidditch got right into the corners, and it's a cobbled old yard.

Recommendations gratefully recieved!

Following this thread because I'd like to know too. My stable neighbour had a great one, it was the best broom ever and I've never found one as good . As winter turnout looms in the not too distant future, I've began my annual, casual looking for a magic broom that sweeps every speck of hay and bedding with minimal effort.

I've got one and found it way too soft. It was good for sweeping light things off smooth floors but not strong enough for anything else. And you can't store it head down- after a few weeks all the bristles bent so it's now curved and pretty useless. I've given up using it.

I found the natural ones bend if you store them head down too so always stand mine on its handle.

ETA mine sweeps up hay scraps in the wet but I'm on smooth concrete.

A new traditional corn broom snapped at the head in first week with me . Not to be beaten it was put back together with lashings of Gorilla Glue - not pretty as I put the glue everywhere and it "bubbles" up when it reacts with the wet surfaces you have to create. However it is still going strong 2 years later - worth a try??

My wonder yard sweeper did not like the synthetic one I got it was too soft however it had one big advantage H did not eat it which is what happens to the traditional ones if you are not very careful .

That's good that the red one is working out for you! They are lovely looking brooms. Sadly I'm on rocky old cobbles so had better not be tempted

Glad to hear you could fix your corn broom! Quidditch's 'neck' is metal so I tried some duck tape but no luck.
If I can't find another like him I'll go to the other country store out west to me and get another traditional corn broom - I've had 2 in the past from there, they're great and handle wet cobbles well but do wear done with all the sweeping I do! The one I purchased yesterday while I was at a different store is too soft - I never thought to feel the bristles!

Ooh I like the look of that! Yes that would be good for getting in about corners and bumpy cobbles! Looks sturdy, too. Will definately keep this in mind, thanks!

AHHHHHH!!!!! I think that's him!!!!! Mines had a pale grey neck, but yes, so similar! Wow, the site seems to be American?! I've never bought anything from abroad, I'm not sure about import taxes? But may check this out further, thank you!

Ha ha yes my cob tried to bite the traditional brooms I had!
My Quidditch's bristles are very sturdy. Luckily the head is in good condition - I've tried various other broom handles on it, even the mop - will maybe eventually come across something that will fit.

This one looks sturdy, a proper broom handle, and advertised for stable yard/outdoor use so should be stiff enough.

YESSSSSS!!!!! Well done on finding this one! It's called Tough Guy, lol!
That's good they would import it for me - it's quite a lot more than I'd normally pay for a broom but hey, it might be worth it, if it's the exact same as Quidditch and will last and do the job proper.
I'll try and put up a pic of Quiddich's head later in case it will help someone recognise him.

Thanks, they do look super, but I'm needing something to handle quite wet dirty cobbles and people seem to find them quite soft-bristled, which is a shame!
