I was not looking to buy anther horse however spotted a coloured cob that just needed to come and live with me :), I have taken a chance buying her as she came with no history at all.
She was bought from the sales 2 weeks ago and put up for sale within days without the new owner knowing anything about her apart from what the seller told her. Apparently she had not been ridden for 18 months and had a foal taken off her within days of going to auction, supposed to be ride and drive and safe ploddy type.
I will be honest it was an impulse buy as I felt sorry for her, but so far she seems very quiet. She has been put in the bottom field in quarateen as I dont know what bugs she may have. She is on day 3 of a 5 day wormer, and vet is coming next monday to start her vacinations and check her age.
She was sold as an 8 year old but something tells me she is younger as her teeth look quite babyish to me, equine dentist is also booked to come and check her teeth in two weeks time just to check she has no problems.
I did ride her when I first saw her and she seemed very quiet and was exellent in traffic, and she has not turned into a monster whilst with me so far. She has settled in really well, and has been happy to let me catch, tie up and groom so I could get all the matts out of her mane and tail. She has not gone silly when other horses have been ridden past her field on the bridleway, she is a bit on the lean side but nothing that god grass wont put right and I suppose the foal would of taken it out of her.
Just hoping she works out well for me, apart from worming, dentist and vet she was a cheapy I took a chance on. Thanks for reading just needed to get it out as my family are not horsey at all, and us horsey folks need reasurance of other horsey folks now and again.

I have forgotten all my photbucket stuff so just setting up a new account, also struggling to get them on here, give me some time and I shall be back lol

Hope this works I am really struggling here

Hopefully the photos will work now. :)

Go to the link in my siggy to sort out photobucket - for some reason they have decided to add lots of extra code that means the photos show as links. :( Once you have changed the settings it should go back to showing as photos.

No on that piccy she does not look lean at all, think it was due to the glare but her ribs are quite visable. Will try to upload this more clearer picture of her

When you copy&paste the photobucket IMG code - you need to delete all the stuff that's in bold, as this is the extra code that turns the photo into a link. Then the code should look like this (without spaces) and the photo should show when you post it. :)

She does look sweet - I'm sure that you'll get her condition improved and she'll be a cracking mare. :)

She does look lovely, I wouldn't panic about her weight though, looks more like she needs muscle rather than weight. Everyone gets so used to seeing fat cobs they think the hint of a rib is bad. She just looks like a saggy broodmare atm. Teeth can be deceiving as some horses teeth don't always age as fast as the horse. When mine first had her teeth done the vet was convinced she was younger than I said. However the next time it was an EDT and he was convinced she was older!

I still don't think she is anything like lean, so don't go mad feeding her up! With her wormed, teeth sorted out, and got fit she will soon look superb.

Totally agree.

Good luck with her. I took a chance on my 13.1, I didn't even ride her or see her in the flesh before she was transported up and I've owned her for a year now and she is a lovely mare.

I think you got a bargain there! She sounds like a real gem. I would imagine that now that horse isn't feeding a foal and has access to a decent amount of grass she will soon put condition on. I'll bet this time next year you'll be posting about the best way to manage her weight!
Enjoy!
