I’m competing at an ODE at the weekend which is luckily held at my livery yard.
Problem is , I have 5 hours between dressage and SJ so I was just gonna put my mare back in her stable while waiting. But the walk from the arenas to her barn is largely concrete so don’t know if I should walk her up in her stud or take them out after DR , pop her in her barn and put them back in just before sj?
anyone any advice?
what do people do at events where they have loads of time between phases? Leave horse in lorry/trailer with studs in?

with that much time between phases I'd have taken them out. i used flat travel studs in the lorry for the journey to the venue so I'd probably swap them back in to keep the holes clean in the scenario you are describing. I'd often be changing the front studs between dressage and jumping anyway so not much extra faff really.
