Hi
What do you use to carry your phone hacking? I used to have a little holder that went round my boot but I now have an iphone and its to big for the holder. So looking for something new can anyone suggest something to carry an iphone in?

Thanks
M

I use a bum bag that sits against my tummy. Very 80s I know, but works well. I also carry a hoof pick in there.

I have an armband that runners keep their phone in, however although my iphone does fit in there it only fits if I take off it's protective cover (I have a rubber protective cover as dropped it once or twice) which is annoying. I haven't seen bum bags for sale for ages, will be ok in the cooler weather as will be able to wear a coat again.

If I'm wearing a jacket I put it in the pocket. SO many times while cantering about has my phone gone flying off into the distance. I once spent twenty minutes walking up and down a grass verge trying to find it... poor thing. I'm not sure what to do in summer. I wear a body protector when I hack so I don't think a bumbag would work - so I too would like to know the answer to this question!

Maybe I should be asking what jods you all have, none of mine have big enough pockets for my phone :) but I like stroppy mares suggestion

I put my phone in my jod pocket. I would never put it in a saddle bag, if you fall off and the horse scarpers you could find yourself in a lot of trouble!
I have also bought a 'bum bag' for five pounds of the internet which I plan to store a penknife, hoof pick, mobile, bailing twine, and wire cutter in! AND YES ... I did used to be in the brownies ... lol :)

I have a lovely pair of premier equine breeches nice fabric for summer , fit well , but the pocket is tiny I can only get my single house key in it .
Surely the people who design these things have some sort of idea what we are likely to want to do with them .

In jod pocket, jacket pocket (if it has a zip), or 'polite' vest pocket if I'm really desperate ;). With smaller jodh pockets I put the phone in so it's horizontal and sort of wedged in, though this means it's very difficult to get out of the pocket when on the horse :P. It's difficult to describe, but I put the bottom end of the phone (speaker end) against the side of the pocket and then push down/sideways on the top of the phone (lock button end) and lever it in.

Try these people:

Bloody amazing!! They made me an arm band for my competition numbers to go in, as I hate pinning them to my jacket, and its was no more expensive than the ones you get for the bridles. They do mobile armbands, and probably a made to measure service with no minimum order!!

I usually just tuck it into the waist band of my jods, it 'usually' stays put. Failing that I sometimes take a bumbag out or will tuck it inside my long boots. If I'm wearing a coat it just goes in the pocket.

In my gilet / coat if warm enough but this time of year I've been using a cycling shirt (picked this one up from Aldi a couple of months ago: https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbu...ct-detail/ps/p/mens-and-ladies-cycling-shirt/) its near luminous pink with hi-vis flashes so helps with visibility and has three really tight elastic pockets on your back any of which easily hold a phone. I've done some good off road hacks with galloping and other daft activities wearing it and not had any problems.

Oh dear, for a second there I thought the thread was about phone hacking and wondered what it was doing in the Tack Room. :D

nah- in my sports bra there would be a handy centre pocket ;)

Mine fits in my jods - I only buy ones with proper zip pockets though - have had dublins, lovesons and shires/kincade ones that it has fitted in ok.

I have a bum bag - had it years :)

I have phone, hoofpick, baler twine, sweets, money cigs and lighter in it :)

In winter it generally gets stuffed in a pocket

For summer hacking I wear an elasticated belt on which fits an iPhone pouch, plus about five quid in loose change for emergencies/ice creams etc.

Have a look on Amazon as there's a whole load of iPhone and other phone pouches which you can clip onto a belt.

Mine usually sits in the small of my back just to the right of the rear seam belt loop: find it the most comfy place to have it.
