Out of interest, what are you going to feed to get him back to weight? Are you using any of the feed balancers? (Baileys outshine/Blue Chip) and what are your long term plans with him?
He is being fed Baileys Super Conditioning Flakes + sugar beet (unmolassed) + Alfalfa and a broad spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement, given in several small feeds per day.
As for long term plans - we will be more than happy if he can be a happy hacker and do some fun rides, but we're taking it one day at a time at the moment.
Aw.. poor baby! Actually, when I finally met up with PF about 6mths after I sent her on, she looked rather like that; it was a bit of an upset, I can tell you!! Fortunately she was very perky and it was nothing a bit of TLC couldn't put right. Good luck! Look forward to regular updates
PS: any news on FiL yet? I have my fingers crossed for him honey. xxx

Hes stablised and seems to be on the mend ...thank god , Consultant is coming to discuss his results tomorrow so will know more but For now hes out of immediate danger
You know PF, when he arrived on Saturday he was really down in the dumps and sorry for himself, standing in the corner with his head down, but it's amazed me how, in 48 hours, he has perked up. He now comes trotting up to the gate and whickers at you, and follows us around the paddock nuzzling.
All he's had is a few feeds, a bath, and loads of cuddles.
He's a real sweetie, who certainly didn't deserve to end up like he has, but I'm really optimistic that he will come on well given time.
I will certainly be giving out updates
The most important thing IMO is that he's chipper; i had a friend over from England when I arranged transport for PF from Buenos Aires to Cordoba, and she was horrified by the state she was in. I, on the other hand, wasn't really that bothered because despite being covered in (mild) rainscald, she was in tearing spirits, bless her...
Looking forward to updates as he sound a really lovely chap, who seem to already be grateful for the TLC he is getting. Good on you for giving him a chance.
He has a kind face Dubs. looks similar (condition/weight) to how Rosie was when we rescued her, although not quite as bad. She was fed like a baby every four hours, the weight gain milk pellets worked a treat (although made her fur fall out!)
Good luck, you are doing a grand thing, look forward to updates.
Well done Dubble. I rescued one in a similar condition a few years back..withers and spine worn right through the skin by a rug that hadn't been off for months, bad teeth, etc and managed to turn him round so I am sure you can give this one a future. Look forward to updates
