I have one and she is fabulous, a really nice cross IMO She is safe but fun and forward going and very, very honest. I call her a connie in the summer and a TB in the winter as her weight flucuates!
theres a gorgeous one on our yard, excellent jumper, lovely natured, although a little firey when your on his back - I'd snap him up if I had the money!!
My sisters is a Tb x connie gelding and he is a nice horse, but can be very pushy! He has a great temperament otherwise though, and is a very capable jumper and very sane and sensible, but not a plod.
I used to ride the best tbxconnie!
He would jump the moon if given the chance (Ben Faerie was his dad)...used to be an intermediate eventer....22 years old now and still going strong. He isn't the most good looking horse but he is honest and amazing....hasn't knocked a pole or refused, a day in his 22 years of life!
Hacking out he doesn't look at anything! Only thing is he really does tear my arms out of their sockets when cantering!
He is very grumpy with his rugs (had to be tied up or he will bite you). If you turn him out in the morning without being ridden, he would stand by the gate and not graze until you brought him in at the end of the day...so you have to ride him first thing and then he would graze.
He was retired but lost weight quickly because of this....now brought back into work which he loves.
Used to own a TBxConnie mare, very pretty, very VERY clever! Could jump anything, could take her hunting in a nylon straight bar snaffle! o.o However did have her moments and had far more talent than I was going to bring out of her, so has now gone on to compete more seriously, which we didn't have the money for for a start!
I've got one - fantastic little mare, gentle and honest but with real spirit and courage when ridden. Brilliant feet, good doer. I agree - its a very good combination!
I've known a few and recently ridden one a couple of times at my local RS (managed by Charlie76). He's actually owned by Bossanova on HHO and loaned to the school! He's evented to 2* in the past, has bags of ability and genuine but can be quite tense and tricky.
I think they are a lovely combination - you often get that slight cheekiness of the connie with the scope of the TB. They seem to have good conformation too. Obviously each one is different though!
My daughter has a connie x tb so more of a pony really, we've had him for 3 years and he's a star, his temperament is brilliant and he's so brave xc. He was 6 when we got him and they have matured together reaching 8 nationals including Burghley, unfortunately at 15 she is rapidly outgrowing him, we will be so sad when he goes because he is such a lovable character.
Very very clever, carry the pony traits brain wise (so you do have to be firm on the ground - well I do with mine! Lol) but they will pretty much turn their hooves to anything and have great personalities!

Agree with this totally!
If I was looking for a horse this is the sort of cross breed I go for.
There is one on our yard who is now 20, I've known him since he was 4 and he has always been amazing. He went to Advanced in his eventing career, now hunts twice a week as a whip's horse. Such a busybody, very quick witted, tough as anything - absolutely brilliant.
Hi I have one that i bought as a competition horse. She is 15.3hh and with all this snow hasnt been rode in 10days. took her to a show and took my lunge rope just in case had no need as sane as always just hopped on. She won her working hunter classes and got a double clear after no work!
Forward going and sharp, thrives on jumping, so much scope, faithful, great personality really easy to work with not at all marish. As Sarah B said though i would say tb in winter connie in summer. Fantastic feet farrier hates them that hard. Tough and spirited and hunting is an amazing feeling sitting on one, so brave. Couldnt get a better cross in my opinion i want more and wont be parting with mine!
i had one and he was the best!!! (i desperately want him back
registered as toy prince is anyone knows him ??) he was a fantastic jumper, unbeatable against the clock!!! won placed working/ridden hunter and never an xc fault!!! dressage was interesting though!!! he was very very clever which meant that catching was a problem but a super horse!!!
I agree with all the things said - I got mine when she was 10 now 16 and in foal to RID as I'd like to keep a bit of her forever !
Very smart and swift will Jump everything and anything with just a point and a nudge - very hardy, good doer, brilliant feet and the prettiest face. She is very much like an overgrown pony and I love her !
there is one on our yard and he is lovely! I think hes a really good mix as he's a good jumper, a really good pc horse and not too bad at dressage either!
