Well, today's part-bred NF was lovely! The plan is to have it vetted this coming week, so fingers crossed it passes. I will tell you all about it once it is officially mine.
Mine is fab but a bit oppinionated lol Hes out of Howen Moonlight Miss and by Farriers Rambler... wish I could post pics though lol Hes called Howen moonwalk and is a character! hated him at first but as I have started getting the measure of him, he is becoming a lovely, willing pony![]()
Oh how! What's his name? Can you post photos of him on here?Equiequestrian! My pony's grandsire is also Blackwell sunset!! He's a good jumper too and really gentle
That's kind of it right there.I've got a Forest born and bred & didn't come off the forest until a 5 year old.
That's odd spellcheck must have changed my post as I definitely said granddam not grandsire. Any way his name is conker ( tilebarn marys son). I am rubbish with tech stuff but will try. He is a bay quite dappled 14 HH. He's five. Forest bred. Will try to put a photo up how do you do it?
Wow what a beauty he is!

He's my first NF & a real mixed bag.
He's sharp & spooky to ride, but when he's confident with something he tends to think he knows it all & doesn't need any interference (he gets quite cross if he doesn't think you are doing it right or getting in his way!). He's not great in traffic (I keep him at a yard with off road hacking - he's got better with 'stable traffic', but I wouldn't take him on a road) and a strong sense of what he thinks he should be doing. He'll let you know loudly, even anything is amiss (real or perceived ...!). He's also very clever with quick reflexes - if you don't keep him entertained, he'll make up his own. You literally can't take your concentration off him for a second, as otherwise you'll be in trouble! For a long time, his default setting was 'no' whatever the question, however you asked.
He's got a HUGE personality, is very cheeky & you definitely need a sense of humour and patience with him.
I've had him 3 years & is now very loyal & will try his heart out for me - but does find it hard to trust 'new' people.
He's a hardy, good doer with great feet & is easy to do in that respect.
I could have happily sold him for 50p many times over numerous times ...! I wouldn't part with him now, but I'm not sure if I would rush out & buy another NF, I have to be honest. A friend of mine has a NF stud in the New Forest and even they said he's quirky - which wasn't what I was looking for.
He's the absolute love of my life though.
I think his breeder was a woman called Sally fear who also put together a book of photos of the forest
Well that wasn't the greatest success ever! It told me it had not uploaded it and then I end up with 2. What did I do wrong. I pasted in the Img code.
