People. This is silly.
Some people need to stop stereotyping and others need to take things at face value and stop over analysing things. If RB is a "troll" then so be it, but honestly how on earth will it affect anybody but him. Really doubt that anybody on here knows each other in real life so tomorrow will this be a big deal.
I think people need to stop being up in arms at each other. Ride your horses and live your lives.
If you have your own opinions dont give them until asked and dont accuse each other of pretending to be things.

I suspect there is a big problem, and so sadly he is meat money - which I think is probably about £300 max. And £300 is too much to pay, if you can't ride him (and want to...) if you want to keep him as a pet, and he is OK as a field companion, and can be led / caught, will not cause issues with other horses (i.e. can be turned out with mares or geldings) then might be worth it - but still an expensive lawn mower. If he does have problems, then the owner should have cut his / her own losses and done the honerable thing. However, if I am just being cynacal - or totally off the mark - then £300 could buy you a nice little horse - but do not pay any more!
Please, all of you looking for cheap project horses, go to Ascot sales and buy a used racehorse - they are generally lovely (just not quick enough / have the right attitude) and have many years ahead of them to do all sorts of disciplines - are broken, most are straightforward (certainly the half dozen or so I have bought over the years have been) and will do any job.
The last one I bought for £400 in June 2011 (skin and bone) 4 months later was placed in his first ever XC, with an amateur rider, hacks, hunts, and last week on his SJ debut was placed in two classes with daughter riding in one class and younger son (who has never to date got a horse around a SJ Course) in the second. He was also 7 years old when I got him.........

I think you've made some shocking accusations on this thread:mad::(:( who are you to make such judgements and who are you be be the hanging committee, as fiona12 says what's it to you anyway, live and let live. Furthermore, do you know RB could be a chap with a phd, an office job, but that doesn't mean that he hasn't just lost a horse... Disgusted and why email TFC? What's the reason for that because you think RB is a fraud? I'm pretty gobsmacked.:(
 
Why does everything involving RB OR other travellers for that matter, always turn into a bitch fight.
I think people on here are being particularly narrow minded and see no reason to doubt RB or Lee.
What did they do or say wrong?

Fii- good, glad its not just me.
Im taking everyone for who they are, whether you are a gypsy, a lawyer or the pope.
Everybody on here has horses. Lets just be like them. Simple and forgiving.
 
I don't really see how it matters either way to anyone? It's the internet, not 'real life' as such. Face value and all that. If anything was getting personal, somehow, then fine...but I don't see how anything is going to be affected majorly by anyone.

The amount of fake accounts and posters over the years, no one really cares? It's just a good gossiping reason now and then and creating a drama at the time.

If anyone has hang ups about a user, personally and sincerely, then hit the user ignore. Job done. It's only a forum to chat, essentially about horses. Not a brothel or anything else jabbering on about.

Posts are just posts essentially. Username and a few pics, to another user name and a few pics. No-one really 'knows' anyone. Again, face value. Real or unreal...doesn't actually come into anyone's personal daily life off the computer does it? I could secretly be a 60 year old male called Philis with a fetish for wearing a borat mankini! [Damn my best friend for trying to buy one as a present the other day for the first example to use that popped up. LOL]

Like I said, I just don't get it.
I've not posted on the matter, nor have opinion on anything for any part of any 'topics' going on lately. Can't say I posted on the Athena thread, though did offer advise regarding cancer as know of a horse myself I have with a tumour who is doing just fine, and think have posted once at best commenting on a cob photo [hardly unusual for me either]...so not sticking up nor being biased on anything.
I just simply, don't really care either way?

What will be, will be.

That said, I am prone to being dense but just my thoughts.... ;) :)

No not just you... I think there are some really petty people on here sometimes who just have to attack others

Sums it up for me.

I'm mystified by the outrage caused by the idea that someone may or may not be exactly who they say they are... on the internet :eek::D

As for whether the story of Athena was just that... a story... well it would a weird and slightly distasteful thing to do but probably not the first time it's happened here. It didn't actually do anyone any harm and while I don't like the thought, I can't say I'd be that disturbed by it.

There is enormous prejudice against travellers here and in society in general, and I think that's at the root of this.
 
Perhaps it's sexual frustration vented in the form of online attack because they've already pulled all the labels of their bottles at home and aren't getting any... Hmmm no that can't be it... Or I'd be attacking all of you! :D:D:eek:
 
Oh no Snow Queen you've gone and done it....now ALL the heated topics I think have now ended up stating various people just frustrated! It's even spilling over to FB now from the other thread about pelhams :p

i really do think this has stemmed from bad feelings and stereotypes of the traveller community.
Also from the fact that RB is the first traveller people have met on here. People dont want to see their narrowly constructed stereotypes destroyed, while some have welcomed RB openly. Jelousy is present here I do believe
 
This forum can have a real nasty edge to it. Reading these threads can put me off it. Why hassle these lads? Take them at face value, or not. Like everyone else on the web. For all you know, I could be a 50-year old drag queen.

I'll go back to reading friendly, helpful threads and hopefully renew my faith in horsepeople.

cant see what the jealousy is bout tho?? think some think us travellers live in caves with no internet or maybe its cos we are not sat in council houses claiming every benefit under the sun to support our horses if thats what you wanna belive i suggest ya give ya head a wobble
