My rescue companion cob is 19. He came in very lame on his hind leg . Vet called and thinks it’s some sort of tendon issue. She wants to scan in a few days to see what’s happening.
He’s from a national charity but is not insured.
He is not very keen on box rest and I could set up a small space for him .
My question is does anyone have any experience of a veteran becoming field sound after such an injury ?
I am not prepared to put him through an operation at his age as he wouldn’t cope with the aftermath.
I don’t want to put him through months of box rest even without an op if he’s still going to be in some pain that can’t be controlled with Bute.
Any advice gratefully received
TIA
