He's always got bit of a manky tail much of the time over the years. Recently it worsened as he was out 24/7 as a companion to a bigger horse, on too much grass really and impossible to keep fenced in or with a muzzle on (when we could find where he's last removed it)
Found new more suitable companion for the winter and brought pony home.
He's currently in during the day from about 7.45 and I put him out as its getting dark. Either stabled with soaked hay or in a woodchip turnout paddock then out in the field muzzled.
He's already lost weight and is looking and moving better but the scouring is still a problem) This morning I got him in and he's covered all down his back legs and tail. I have some healthy tummy charcoal but of course any supplement involves feeding him which I'm hesitant to do!- he could have a hand full of fast fibre or similar if beneficial.
Idea's? suggestions? Its also a nightmare to get out of his tail and sticks to his skin. :(

Considering I accidentally let go of him coming through a 40 acre field this week and got him back by shaking a bucket I'm pretty sure he'd be easy enough! Does charcoal work well for this type of thing?

We use Yea Sacc which is reasonably priced. Works on the hind gut. Helps our two no end. Comfort gut comes highly recommended too.

Yeasacc and mycosorb - and you don't need large quantities at all, can't remember exactly but my horses get two small blue round scoops a day - the small ones that are about an inch across.

A cob who used to be on our yard had a terrible scouring issue, his owner tried everything until she was advised to try charcoal, she said it was the only thing that worked. Cant advise on the amount but he was on little to no feed I think it was just in a handful of the chaff he had when he came in.
