I have a 4 month old Fox terrier x Jack Russell, who i think is gorgeous (of course)!
He has just finished his basic puppy training and the instructor has recommended i look into showing him as he thinks he is very well marked and put together.
Now obviously i can get back to the trainer to find out a bit more about it but i thought i would ask you guys how i go about it, what to expect and is it fun!!!

Look up the National Working Terrier Federation, they have regional branches and organise shows, plus look out for hunt organised terrier and lurcher shows.
Have fun.

Wow, I might look into that for little Roly and Lil, they'd love to strut their heinz 57 selves!

No-one told them they are mongrels

Terrier shows are great fun, used to go to them round here. They often have terrier racing as well, which tends to end in a mass scrap when they have a go at each other in frustration as the "rabbit" has disappeared.

Thanks for the link, i shall look into that

I didnt think there was much showing for mongrels to do either until trainer mentioned it but if nothing else it will be good for Bobs socialisation and education to go out to play!

Haha, unfair advantage!! So you've made the step with JRTs and GSD's - how do they bounce of each other?

The JRTs were always in charge

Until the last few years have always had a little dog with the sheps, last one was a lancashire heeler who died 4 years ago. We did have problems with her with one of the sheps, for years the little one had tormented the shepherd bitch who in the end lost her temper and grabbed her. Didn't do her any harm but I did keep them apart after that.

Tinker has won a few rosettes in her time.

Mainly local shows or the terrier classes at country fairs.
