Hi everyone,
I have had a great week because some lovely person on HHO pm'd me saying she thought she knew someone that knew about Fred and gave me the her email address
The lady gave me as much of a description of Fred as she could remember so we could clarify it was definitely him and everything but one thing came back 100% (she couldn't remember if he had a snip). So I am 99.9% sure it is Fred.
To cut a long story short. Fred had the kissing spine opration in 2005 and I think the lady thought he would calm down if he wasn't in pain anymore but he still proved a little too much for her to handle. So instead of doing the obvious (sell on), she had him pts (or so she thought). I have spoken with various people that knew him in between 2003 - 2005 and they are all really happy that he is alive and well
So from here, I am going to treat his lameness issue as being caused by muscle deteriation around his spine. My vet thinks that lunging, long reining and walking out in hand for a few weeks will strengthen him up and then I can get back on YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEE
His old owner, hasn't yet got back in touch with me but this is all the information I needed anyway. I thought when he was supposedly pts, something horrfic might have happened to him but it transpires that it never.
Thankyou Mudsplasher and C!!!
