The best Christmas present ?

After several viewings and a couple of failed vettings…I finally found the one and picked her up today!

She makes a lovely Christmas present to myself even though I can’t quite fit her under the tree. She’s an ex racer, last raced in October and has been living out since so still reasonably lean, soon to be 5 so going to take it nice and slowly with her.

I’ve been loving reading the 3/4 and 5/6 year old threads in competing & training and wondered if there’s a racehorse to riding horse thread similar?

Also, she has a proper racing name but no stable name as of yet so any ideas for this pretty girl would be appreciated. We’ve gone through a lot but none seem to be just right.
I can’t stop looking at her pictures, she’s so gorgeous, and travelled like a dream too.

Perhaps you should call her Beauty, even though it does sound more like an old-fashioned RS name. Did she not have a stable name with the trainer?

Her racing name is akin to Softly Spoken, which is lovely but hard to do anything with! (And Whisper is out due to previous bad horse connotations) The trainers yard just called her by her full name.

I’d like to do a bit of everything with her and she moves beautifully so a bit of ROR dressage would be nice. She’s so calm and settled so quickly this evening, but she’s a picky eater (never had one of those before!) so off to the feed shop tomorrow to find something a bit more tempting than the bland chaff and grass nuts I currently have.

I may start a racehorse to riding horse thread in the new year if anyone would like to join in ?
