Back in Feb I found a little cat at the side of the road, so I took him to the vet and they took him in. They said I had to try find his owner within a week or he would be PTS - the RSPCA didn't want him because he was partially sighted and partially deaf. I put posters everywhere and couldn't find them - so they released the cat to me instead. This little man was covered in matted hair, just bones and generally unkept so we assumed a stray.
Later found his owner - she had kept him in a garage for his whole life (found out he was 19) - she described him to a T and told us he was "ferrel" and hated people, which is why she kept him in the garage.
This cat has spent the last 2 months snuggling in my bed at night, following me around the house and enjoying sitting out in the sunshine together in the garden.
Went to give him his dinner tonight... and he was panting really heavily and collapsed
so we rushed him to the vet and they put him to sleep... saying he had suffered a pulmonary embolism?
Is there anything I could have done to prevent this happening to him? I feel so sad
